The Sub-Investigator (Sub-I) plays a critical role in clinical research by supporting the Principal Investigator (PI) in conducting clinical trials. Duties and Responsibilities: The Sub-Investigator:
Attends Site Initiation Visits and/or training in-service for all current protocols.
Completes required SOP training.

Provides guidance to the clinical team as needed.

Reviews lab results, provides clinical significance for any out-of-range or abnormal values, and signs off as appropriate.
Evaluates appropriateness of patient inclusion into trials; order repeat labs if necessary, or screen-fail patients as needed. Counsels' patients on seeking appropriate medical care when necessary.
Reinforces study restrictions, diets, and study guidelines.
Reviews and provides insight into impending CRFs, electronic CRFs, data clarification forms, and/or data queries.
Reviews source documents, lab results, and procedures throughout the study.
Assesses adverse events and drug reactions, thoroughly recording details, including the relationship to the study drug.
Assists in reporting any serious adverse events (SAEs) to the PI.
Participates in monthly staff meetings.
Reads and understands the information in the Investigator's Brochure (IB), including the potential risks and side effects of the drug.
Performs Clinical Research Coordinator duties.
Occasional travel to Company sites, Investigator meetings, and/or Company meetings.
Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by your manager.

The Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Institute comprised of six academic institutions that are geographically distributed across the U.S. Gulf Coast states. Summary We invite applications for a 2-year position in computational astrophysics focusing on linking transport models of low-energy cosmic rays with recently available observations. This project is funded by the NSF grant entitled Modeling the variability of the cosmic ray ionization rate within 500 parsecs from Earth.

Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with professor Kedron Silsbee to carry out a research project focused on cosmic rays in the local interstellar medium. The successful candidate will implement a model of cosmic ray transport including spatial and momentum-space diffusion, advection, and energy losses due to interaction with the ISM. In particular, we aim to incorporate the true density structure of the interstellar medium as revealed by dust extinction maps, and a realistic stochastic source model that includes the statistical clustering of supernova explosions. The candidate will compare the results of this model to the energy spectra of different cosmic ray species measured with the Voyager probes, and to measurements of the cosmic ray ionization rate in nearby molecular clouds that can now be localized in three-dimensional space with the help of dust extinction maps.
In addition to the research program, the selected candidate will be encouraged to work with and help mentor both undergraduate and graduate students.
