There continues to be an increasing concern about the pipeline of independent, productive physician-scientists in pediatrics. The Pediatric Physician Scientist Research Award (PPSRA) Program is intended as one strategy in addressing this limitation by providing intramural Departmental support for actively and/or newly recruited junior investigators who show outstanding potential for developing an independently funded research program.
