Position Summary: The University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy is recruiting for a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacy Practice with Dr. Paola Rosas' laboratory supported by NIH and AHA funding. Our laboratory aims to understand the relation between heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and metabolic disorders that are more frequently seen in postmenopausal women. We focus on P21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1) regulatory activities and how these activities are governed by estrogens in the heart and the adipose tissue. We have different murine models of heart failure and we use non-invase and invasive techniques to evaluate cardiac function and metabolism.
