Job Requirements:
• Education: Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, engineering, or information technology.

• Web Content Development & Management Experience: At least one (1) year of experience developing and managing web-based content.

Cryo electron microscopy laboratory (PI Dr. Vitold E. Galkin) is seeking motivated postdoc to conduct research on the mechanisms of cardiac muscle contraction. Dr. Galkin has excellent records of publications in the field of structural biology and pioneered single-particle approach to 3D reconstruction of helical filaments while working with Dr. Edward H. Egelman at UVA. PI has access to two state of the art Titan Krios TEMs equipped with Falcon 3c and K3 summit direct detectors, energy filters and phase plates. The nearest facility at UVA is within 2.5h by car. EVMS has TEM on site to conduct preliminary studies on protein complexes. PI has large park of Linux based work stations with 256-512Gb of memory and 36-48 core processors for high speed computing. SPIDER, EMAN2 and RELION software is used for classification and 3D-reconstruction. Position is offered for 3 years and is funded by the NIH R01 grant.
Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in structural biology or muscle regulation field is required. Applicant is expected to have at least one first author publication in international peer reviewed journal along with at least one record of participation in international meetings related to structural biology or muscle regulation. Fast learning curve is expected along with the ability to independently summarize data, relate results to the published observations and write scientific papers aimed for peer reviewed journals. Job Duties
The Quantum Electronics Group (QEG) in the Department of Physics at Norfolk State University is seeking a postdoctoral associate with expertise in nonlinear and ultrafast optics, high power diode-pumped lasers, and laser spectroscopy of materials at cryogenic temperatures.
The successful candidate will conduct research on magneto-optics, low temperature and high magnetic field microscopy, and ultrafast two-color, pump-probe experiments on strongly correlated electron systems, topological insulators, 2D materials, thin films, nonlinear optical crystals and quantum devices incorporating some of these materials. The laser facilities include: a 5W Solstice regenerative amplifier, two Topas Prime/NIRUV OPA's, Mai Tai fs laser, a Quantum Design OptiCool cryostat 4k-300K range with a magnetic field up to 7 T, and related optics and electronics.
The materials and devices studied will be fabricated in the NSU Crystal Physics and Quantum Electronics Laboratory and in the NSU-Micron Class100/1000 Cleanroom, both located in the McDemmond Center for Applied Research on the NSU campus. Some of the facilities include, single crystal floating zone growth, Bridgman crystal growth stations, a 14T, 50 mK Quantum Dynamics PPMS, a low temperature XRD, a Laue backscattering, and state-of-the-art cleanroom fabrication systems.
The appointment is for 2 years if hired by September 2025.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must have a PhD degree in physics, optical engineering, or similar discipline related to research. The applicant must also show an interest and ability to communicate and mentor a diverse student body of undergraduate and graduate students, work in close collaboration with members of the Quantum Electronics Group and have the initiative and capability to work independently.

The prospective candidate will oversee and manage research experiments in the field (nursery and greenhouse production), as well as assist with laboratory-based experiments. Research fellow job in Suffolk, VA
The Crop Physiology Lab at Virginia Tech' s Tidewater Agricultural Research and Extension Center (TAREC), in Suffolk, VA, is inviting applications for a Laboratory & Research Specialist position. The successful candidate will serve as the Manager of a multi-state project on faba bean winter production in the Mid-Atlantic region. The project includes areas of breeding, phenomics, genomics, agronomics, economics, food science and engineering.
Successful candidate is expected to be creative, self-motivated and problem solving, and demonstrate evidence of technical writing. The position requires travel frequently to the testing sites in Virginia and occasionally in North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware. The position is located at the TAREC in Suffolk, VA, and available for two years, with one year offered initially and renewed thereafter based on the appointee' s performance. The position can start as soon as Dec 2025.

Required Qualifications
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in agronomy, crop science, or related agricultural field or equivalent education and experience; general knowledge of crop production.
- Ability to work in an agricultural setting during the entire growing season and during adverse weather conditions.

- Demonstrated experience to work independently and in a team.
- Demonstrated experience with preparing tables in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications

- Must be able to work in the field conditions during entire growing season.
