Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Nurturing Resilience Initiative/TCHATT
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth Houston) is seeking a psychology post-doctoral fellow interested in clinical and research training in child and adolescent psychology. Clinical and research training will focus on youth receiving school-based tele-mental health services and children/families who are participating in community-based social-emotional skills groups and evidence-based parenting programs.
Applicants must have a PhD in psychology. This is a hybrid position in which postdoctoral fellows will deliver services via telemedicine and in-person at community sites in Harris and Fort Bend Counties.
Trainees will choose between one of two tracks within the postdoctoral fellowship, with one track focusing on school-aged youth and the other track focusing on early childhood and parenting. The school-age track includes the delivery of brief social emotional groups at Boys and Girls Club and YMCA locations. The second track includes a focus on early childhood with postdoctoral fellows delivering relational-focused parenting classes to caregivers of children under 6 years old. Both tracks include research and training opportunities and can be customized to individual professional goals.
General educational activities include weekly didactic activities, journal clubs, writing clubs, meetings with senior researchers, workshops on grant writing, and individualized career development plans. Scholarly activities are integrated into the fellowship training.

Position Summary:

The Northern Gulf Institute (NGI) is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Cooperative Institute comprised of six academic institutions that are geographically distributed across the U.S. Gulf Coast states. The six NGI member institutions are Mississippi State University (lead), the University of Southern Mississippi, Florida State University, Louisiana State University, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Dauphin Island Sea Laboratory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in fishery-independent surveys of queen conch populations by traveling to
selected jurisdictions and safely conducting SCUBA diving and snorkel operations as
needed
Comply with all diving safety regulations as specified in the NOAA Diving Standards
and Safety Manual and follow any additional instructions from the Unit Dive Supervisor
at the Galveston Lab
Maintain diving proficiency and current status as a NOAA diver
Assist project Principal Investigators (PIs) with resource surveys and sample collection
including field trip and logistical planning, coordinating with trip participants,
maintaining gear, and packing field equipment
Enter data collected in the field and in the lab into approved formats and database
applications, conduct quality control reviews of entered data sets, store hard copies in

macroinfauna collected from field samples
Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be required to perform experimental work, carry out experimental data analysis, oversee/direct projects, and, where needed, guide and assist other researchers in the laboratory. The candidate will also be expected to rapidly develop independence in research activities and drive the preparation and publication of peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to actively contribute to the generation of innovative research ideas and paths to support future grant applications.
