Job Duties:

Basic Qualifications:

• Experience with energetic materials and scale-up processes / safety protocols.
• Experience with binder chemistry for cast cure and pressed explosives.

The position offers close collaboration with project PIs and participation in broader research activities.

Post-doctoral fellows will have access to data from multiple large data sets from diverse relationship education programs. The purpose of the postdoctoral fellowship is to prepare the fellow to assume research, Extension, faculty, and leadership positions in Relationship Education science, practice, and policy.
Fellows will play a key role in the execution and publication of research studies of relationship education programs (see HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org). Relationship education programs include courses for individuals who are single, dating, married, divorced and remarried. Venues include high schools, jails, community agencies, etc. USU also administers and evaluates Utah's online divorce education program, which is required for divorcing parties with children (see divorce.usu.edu). Fellows will also help evaluate the efforts of the Utah Marriage Commission, which includes podcasts, relationship assessments, and online courses (see StrongerMarriage.org).

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to further develop their independent research program and collaborate with faculty and undergraduate and graduate students working in areas related to quantum mathematics. The successful candidate will teach two courses per academic year.

Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field.
Demonstrated potential in both research related to quantum mathematics and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics.

Utah State University (USU) invites applications for post-doctoral fellows in the Human Development and Family Studies department (HDFS). Multiple positions are available. Post-doctoral fellows will have access to data from multiple large data sets from diverse relationship education programs. The purpose of the postdoctoral fellowship is to prepare the fellow to assume research, Extension, faculty, and leadership positions in Relationship Education science, practice, and policy.
Fellows will play a key role in the execution and publication of research studies of relationship education programs (see HealthyRelationshipsUtah.org). Relationship education programs include courses for individuals who are single, dating, married, divorced and remarried. Venues include high schools, jails, community agencies, etc. USU also administers and evaluates Utah's online divorce education program, which is required for divorcing parties with children (see divorce.usu.edu). Fellows will also help evaluate the efforts of the Utah Marriage Commission, which includes podcasts, relationship assessments, and online courses (see StrongerMarriage.org).
Teaching courses and/or working on other department projects, is negotiable. Start dates are negotiable. Part-time and full-time options are negotiable (.5 - 1 FTE). Office space, including remote work, is also negotiable, although preference will be given to individuals who can work at the Logan USU campus. Relocation assistance is negotiable. Fellows will join the Relationship Education Initiative administrative team and will work with a collaborative group of faculty, staff, students, and family-life educators around the state. The primary responsibilities will be analyzing data, evaluating programmatic effectiveness, and writing manuscripts. Fellows will be expected to contribute to existing studies and take an active role in conceptualizing and conducting new studies. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with implementation of programmatic and evaluation protocols, grant writing, presenting research results at conferences/meetings, and working with students and county Extension faculty.

The Department of Wildland Resources at Utah State University invites applications for a 12-month postdoctoral fellow (with the opportunity to extend) to participate in research focused on predicting fire severity to improve post-wildfire sedimentation risk models.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
* Take a leadership role in developing and implementing a fire severity prediction model, in close collaboration with PIs across our interdisciplinary research team (Belize Lane, Patrick Belmont, Brendan Murphy, Larissa Yocom, Scott David), as well as associated postdocs, students, and staff;
* Publish one to two lead-author papers related to our research group's ongoing wildfire research program and contribute to additional co-authored publications with members of the research team;
* Be able to summarize and communicate results to a wide variety of stakeholders via web-based forums, stakeholder meetings, presentations, etc.;
* Provide mentoring for graduate and undergraduate students associated with the project. The position is intended to be for one year, with renewal for a second year contingent on performance and funding.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* PhD in relevant field (Forestry, Ecology, Biology, or related field)
* Familiarity with fire ecology, fire modeling, and forest ecology
* Proficiency in ArcGIS and coding in Python, Matlab, and/or R
* Familiarity with statistics
Preferred Qualifications:
* Demonstrated ability to publish peer-reviewed manuscripts
* Experience preparing grant applications and reports
* Experience mentoring graduate and undergraduate student researchers

Research will focus on the southern San Andreas fault and the Mw7.6 Elbistan earthquake surface rupture in Turkey, two systems at different points in the earthquake cycle. Qualifications
Minimum Qualification:
* PhD in the Earth sciences or related field at the time of appointment focusing on experimental rock deformation and/or earthquake cycle modeling

* Expertise with high pressure and rock deformation equipment including an ability to troubleshoot/maintain equipment.
* Experience with or a willingness to learn machine learning and numerical modeling (e.g., multi-cycle rupture modeling, interseismic deformation modeling in PyLith etc.) in the context of earthquake-related deformation.
* A track record of peer-reviewed publications, experience mentoring students and proposal writing.

The successful candidate will bring innovative approaches to connect earthquake geology, geochemistry, and mechanics to investigate the earthquake critical zone - the upper ~1 km of faults where earthquake energy, fluids, rocks, humans, and infrastructure intersect to drive seismic hazard. Research will focus on the southern San Andreas fault and the Mw7.6 Elbistan earthquake surface rupture in Turkey, two systems at different points in the earthquake cycle. The postdoc will integrate field-based and experimental observations to advance understanding of deformation in the shallow portion of active faults, shallow rupture dynamics, and interseismic deformation.
