The Geosystems Research Institute (GRI) at Mississippi State University is seeking a motivated Assistant/Associate Research Professor with demonstrated experience and expertise in machine learning and advanced data analytics techniques to lead applied research efforts in agriculture, conservation, and related fields. The research professor will lead funded research projects and be expected to seek new funding opportunities. The successful candidate will be involved in group, as well as lead single PI, research projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for collecting and processing uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and satellite data, ensuring that data meets the specific requirements of researchers working in conservation, natural resource management, and agriculture, while also advancing the integration of cutting-edge data analysis techniques in these fields.
• Collaborate with external stakeholders such as federal agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to co-produce research with practical applications in agriculture, natural resource management, geosystems and geospatial intelligence, and climate adaptation.
• Identify, integrate, and evaluate emerging technologies, such as GeoAI, sensor networks, and cloud-based geospatial data infrastructures, to advance research scalability and impact.
• Perform interdisciplinary research with a focus on machine learning applications in agriculture and/or natural resources.
• Document project results in reports.
• Disseminate research results via conference proceedings, journal manuscripts, and other interactive and engaging media.

Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a closely related field; candidates with a PhD in natural resources, geography, or agricultural fields with demonstrated competency in machine learning and data analysis will also be considered.

Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine (MSU CVM) has received a transformative gift to establish the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center. This gift will fund the construction of a new research building and the creation of three new faculty positions, along with new staff and graduate student positions. We seek to assemble an outstanding team of faculty to seize this opportunity and conduct research on laminitis, a painful and crippling disease of horses. The new team will consist of one faculty member at the professor level, one at the associate professor level, and one at the assistant professor level. The new 14,000-square-foot facility will offer both clinical and benchtop research space, as well as the equipment needed for advanced research. Graduate student stipends will be available to each faculty member, and a substantial amount of funding will be available to the team annually for research on the prevention and treatment of laminitis in pleasure or working horses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a twelve-month non- tenure-track appointment in the Department of Comparative Biomedical Sciences (DCBS). Time allocations for this position are 90% research and 10% academic service, teaching, or clinical service, depending upon the individual's interests and expertise. Percentages can be adjusted according to the faculty member's professional interests.
The DCBS is home to 19 faculty, 25 staff and 28 graduate students engaged in research, teaching and service, with most faculty primarily focused on research. In addition to research, faculty in the DCBS are involved in the management and delivery of the first year of the veterinary curriculum, and members of the department play key roles in a program designed to provide veterinary students with a high-quality research experience in the summer. Faculty in the department are also actively involved in providing classes and training activities for graduate students. The three new faculty members for the Nancy Link Laminitis Research Center will have opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in the DCBS, as well as clinicians in the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. Equine medicine and equine surgery clinicians in this department provide clinical care to horses with laminitis, and opportunities exist for the new faculty to provide clinical service in the Large Animal Hospital of the Animal Health Center.

Essential Functions:
The Associate Research Professor must be able to conduct basic or applied research related to laminitis in horses. They are expected to contribute to the design of the new research center and preparation of annual reports and MSU CVM publications.
Minimum Qualifications:
A PhD degree is required and a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree from a recognized college of veterinary medicine is preferred. Applicants with specialty board certification are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate must have the experience and credentials necessary for them to be appointed as a research-track Associate Research Professor and they are expected to perform high-quality research and publish their results.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff and students to provide veterinary care of patients and aid in the instruction of veterinary students and veterinary technology students.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
Job requires standing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in the full cycle of game/simulation development and work collaboratively with
artists, designers, and engineers to develop human-in-the-loop simulations for research and
training
• Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay through rapid prototyping and feedback cycles
• Create or supervise game scripts, and storyboards with other artists
• Utilize industry standard 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and animation software and game
engine software to create visually compelling simulations, including virtual reality simulations
• Assist with usability evaluations of simulation and other human-subjects research projects
• Demonstrate simulation projects to diverse audiences through open houses, and other
outreach efforts
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a design discipline, game design, visualization, or computer science. Salary and rank (I, II, or III) will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
1. Beginning with a bachelor's degree:
a. A professional employee with a bachelor's degree and demonstrated competence can begin work at the Research/Extension Associate I level.
b. To begin at the Research Associate II level, one must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and the equivalent of a master's degree.
c. To begin at the Research Associate III level, one must have a bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience and the equivalent of a master's degree.
2. Beginning with a master's degree:
a. A professional employee with a master's degree and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and demonstrated competency can begin work at the Research Associate II level.
b. To begin at the Research Associate III level, one must have a master's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
3. Beginning with a doctoral degree:
a. A professional employee with a doctoral degree with 2 years of relevant experience and demonstrated competence can begin work at the Research Associate III level.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's or Ph.D. degree preferred in a design discipline, game design, information science or
