Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Pediatrics has an immediate opening for a full-time Board Certified/Eligible Clinical and Metabolic Geneticist. This position includes a faculty appointment, commensurate with training and experience, at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician/educator, who is newly trained or more experienced in metablic genetics but may also have broad interests in all facets of clinical genetics and genomics. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to newborn screening, patient care, inpatient consults, outpatient genetic clinics and multidisciplinary team settings, teaching medical students, pediatric and neurology residents, genetic counseling students, and research. Protected research time is available and a research focus is encouraged. Opportunities for intramural and extramural collaboration and program development abound. The scope and diversity of the clinical genetics practice is extraordinary, offering both depth and breadth of experience in all areas including neurogenetics, cardiogenetics, cancer genetics, dysmorphology, congenital anomalies and other specialty areas in genetics. The practice includes two full time and two part time geneticists, two per diem geneticists, four pediatric genetic counselors and a genetic counseling assistant. In addition, a new multispecialty pediatric outpatient facility will open next year.
Loma Linda University Clinical Lab is building a state-of the-art clinical genetic and genomic testing laboratory to provide comprehensive diagnostic services across the health system and serving the Inland Empire with a PhD laboratory geneticist and a laboratory based genetic counselor.
Loma Linda University School of Medicine has a newly accredited graduate program (MS) in genetic counseling that is enrolling its first class in the fall of 2025.
Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children's Hospital is strategically located in the center of Southern California and has the largest Level IV NICU in California, serving the two largest counties in the country and approximately 25 percent of the state.
The Children's Hospital is one of the few centers for pediatric cardiac transplants and ECMO in California and is developing a Perinatal Care Center with a focus on prenatal diagnosis to better serve the large population of high-risk pregnancies and infants with prenatally diagnosed congenital anomalies. The Medical Center and Children's Hospital supports team centers for cystic fibrosis, hemoglobinopathies, spina bifida, metabolic genetics and craniofacial anomalies.
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $252,000 - $278,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. In this position, you will join Meta's ultrasonic sensing team to investigate the propagation of ultrasonic waves in complex media using both experiments and simulations, explore different ultrasound carrier frequencies, modulation waveforms, launch configurations, transducers and body coupling, and estimate fundamental wave propagation parameters, such as dispersion, attenuation, and group velocity.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience
Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or related field.
10+ years of experience in a related scientific discipline (Bioinformatics preferred).
Demonstrated mastery of Fulgent specific methods and processes.
Experience analyzing multiple types of next-generation sequencing (NGS) data
Expertise with statistics for big data analysis and multiomics data integration.
Expert level hands-on skills in bioinformatics databases and tools.
Expert level in relevant programming languages, preferably Scala, Java, Python, and Bash.
Must enjoy working in a multi-disciplinary and collaborative environment.
Ability to troubleshoot both individually and as part of a team.
Excellent oral and written skills with the ability to communicate in an open, transparent, timely and consistent manner.
Experience in team software development and integration projects is a plus.

Summary of Position
Are you a curious and analytical professional with a passion for research and discovery? We're looking for a Research Associate to join our team! The Research Associate will be part of the Molecular Research and Development department as part of a collaborative team to assist in the development of new molecular diagnostic technologies and procedures. The candidate must be detail oriented to help plan, execute, and analyze basic molecular biology experiments including PCR, RT-PCR, and nucleic acid extraction.
Location: This is an onsite position located at our Santa Ana, CA office. Candidates living within a 25 mile range preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Understanding of general practices and biohazards associated with performing molecular biology procedures in BSL-2 laboratories
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadline-driven workflows
Prepares reagents and solutions as directed, using appropriate procedural and documentation methods
Design of simple to moderate experiments (with assistance of experienced colleagues)
Execute various PCR-based experiments and analysis of raw data generated
Provide written and/or oral updates to the team regarding data, progress, technical issues, etc.
Recording of experimental data in a lab notebook following good laboratory notebook practices to ensure proper traceability
Coordinate and maintain inventory of critical lab reagents and supplies and laboratory equipment
Assist other colleagues with additional laboratory work as needed

Qualifications Required for Position
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Bioengineering, or equivalent degree
Knowledge in Molecular Biology, Chemistry, or related field
Minimum of 2 years experience in a biological or wet lab environment, preferably with industry experience in a molecular lab
Hands-on experience with nucleic acid preparation, amplification and detection technologies using proper unidirectional molecular laboratory workflow.

Under the general direction of the Director of Prospect Management and Strategy, the Donor Prospect Research Specialist supports University Advancement by conducting research, analysis, and reporting on individuals, corporations, and foundations to inform fundraising strategies and enhance donor engagement. This position focuses on analyzing existing constituent data to identify new prospects, preparing research on assigned prospects, and supporting strategic fundraising initiatives, including campus-wide comprehensive or capital campaigns.
The Donor Prospect Research Specialist collaborates closely with Advancement leadership and the Development team to ensure fundraisers are equipped with accurate, actionable, and timely information. This role requires skills in research and data analysis to help build and maintain strong prospect pools and to guide data-driven fundraising strategies. This position is also responsible for prospect portfolio distribution and other prospect report distribution to University Advancement staff. Responsibilities also include gathering, compiling and analyzing prospect research data, assisting in the coordination of prospect identification, donor prospect reporting and analysis, general office coordination and travel and procurement card tracking. Essential Qualifications
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field. Relevant education and/or experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Under direct supervision, performs entry-level technical and professional work within the advancement field including gathering and analyzing data; producing reports; assisting in advancement activities; representing the university and ensuring compliance with terms and conditions and applicable regulations and laws. Performs less complex assignments following detailed and established procedures. Work is regularly reviewed for understanding of professional concepts and compliance with policies and procedures.
General professional knowledge of advancement and fundraising tactics. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with research and the ability to perform data analysis, as well as experience using ResearchPoint, LexisNexis, and WealthEngine. Experience in nonprofit or public organizations that receive donated funds, with an understanding of how those funds are solicited, allocated, and used. Possess knowledge of creating both general and detailed research biographical profiles, and be able to maintain files, records, and the confidentiality of prospect information and development records. Experience with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and RE software is required, along with familiarity with engagement scoring, machine learning approaches to donor modeling, or network analysis.
License/Certifications
A valid California driver's license.
