Role Overview
This position is ideal for a scientist who thrives at the boundary of research and product impact. As the Founding Research Scientist for Generative Video, you'll lead experimentation on advanced video generation methods, designing architectures that model motion, timing, and realism at scale.

The Opportunity
Adobe is looking for a Applied Research Scientist who will apply AI and applied research techniques to big-data problems to help Adobe better understand, lead and optimize the experience of its customers. Partnering with the business units, the candidate will be building various products that address challenging business problems through our customers' full lifecycle, from customer analytics to marketing media optimization.

The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 4 to join their team.
The Raftery research group focuses on developing new methods and applications of metabolite profiling using a combination of mass spectrometry (MS) and NMR platforms which provide a broad-based approach for biomarker discovery and systems biology research. The main purpose of this position is to analyze the metabolomics data that we generate, as well as complementary, available genomic or proteomic data for several projects focused on understanding the biology of aging. The aging studies focus on numerous organisms, including humans, dogs, flies and through the Nathan Shock Center, mice or other model organisms.
The Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a Research Scientist/Engineer 4 to join the Raftery lab to investigate the biology of aging using metabolomics, genomics, and systems biology. This position is at 100% FTE. The RSE4 will need a high level of skill in oral and written scientific communication and extensive knowledge of systems biology, statistics and computational methods. The position will focus primarily on the statistical and pathway analysis of the complex metabolite data, including generating creative and new methods of analysis of the data, but will also involve biological interpretation and assisting other researchers with study design. The Scientist will be responsible for generating draft manuscripts and in assisting with proposal writing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Research Responsibilities = 70%
Consult and coordinate on research efforts and study design with collaborators focused on aging.
Write, develop, and modify data analysis code and workflows.
Perform data transfer, data preparation, and cleanup of high-dimensional experimental data.
Perform advanced statistical analysis of high-dimensional experimental data.
Interpret findings within the biological context.
Contribute experimental hypotheses for new scientific inquiries and novel directions of research.
Assist researchers associated with the Shock Center pilot program by providing scientific feedback to enhance their research objectives.
Participate in and contribute to scientific meetings of the Nathan Shock Center.
Prepare analytic results for reports, publications, and presentations = 30%
Initiate and/or contribute to the scientific writing of peer-reviewed publications. Contribute
to scientific writing for grant applications. Communicate
with collaborators and the larger scientific community via research presentations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in Genetics or Biochemistry and four years of relevant experience
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires extensive systems biology, statistics, and computational methods knowledge as well as knowledge in the biology of aging.
A high level of skill in oral and written scientific communication, including presenting at national and international conferences, and authorship and co-authorship of publications and grants.
Extensive knowledge of statistical methods including multivariate and univariate analysis of large data sets, learning and predictive modeling, network analysis, and probabilistic approaches to test theories and develop hypotheses in systems biology.
Systems biology knowledge requires a foundation in biology ranging from a detailed understanding of genetics, biochemistry, and molecular biology to whole organism physiology, development, and population demography. Those elements are utilized in developing and testing theories of aging and other biological phenomena using high-dimensional metabolomics, genomics, knowledge-based networks, and other data type.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· This position is best served by someone who can work independently to facilitate collaboration between investigators working across different fields of aging, biology and chemistry.
· A fundamental understanding of mass spectrometry and chemical analysis is highly desired as it greatly increases the breadth of collaborations with the UW Northwest Metabolomics Research Center.

About the Role
As a Research Associate (RA), you will perform technical procedures, restrain animals, operate laboratory equipment, collect specimens, and data on laboratory animals (mice, rats, canines, non-human primates) as specified in protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and in compliance with GLP standards. What You'll Do Here
Follow SOPs and Protocols to perform procedures on study and stock animals, including, but not limited to: clinical observations, food consumptions, body weights, urine collection, administering injectable anesthesia, mating procedures, blood draws (all routes), dose administration (all routes), euthanasia, catheter placement, restraint, enrichment, feeding and food removal

Record, enter and review raw data, study and facility

Program Description
In October 2021, Washington Emergency Care Physicians (WECP) proudly opened the first Pacific Northwest-based emergency medicine post graduate program for advance practice providers (APPs). The Program is specifically designed for physician assistants and nurse practitioners who are interested in a life-long career in emergency medicine with training sites in the Puget Sound through Tacoma Emergency Care Physicians (TECP), a subsidiary of WECP.
Program Objectives
To provide exceptional training and experience for APP professionals to have a successful career in any emergency department setting.
To prepare candidates well for recognized emergency medicine APP examinations (NCCPA-CAQ for physician assistants, AANPCB Boards for nurse practitioners)
Curriculum
Fifteen (15) months program duration with over 3000 hours of post graduate training
Close to 2400 hours of clinical training
Over 300 hours of didactics to include over an introductory bootcamp followed my weekly activities that include conferences, meetings, case presentations, ultrasound training, procedure lab or simulation.
Over 400 hours of independent study to include case review & presentation preparation, assigned CME and readings, and scholarly research project.
Expected commitment of 50 hours per week of the above activities
Phased Training with increasing levels of expected competency and confidence.
Post Graduate APP 0:
Pre-Boot Camp: 37 hours of on-line Emergency Medicine CME months before start of Program
Boot Camp: First 2 weeks at start of Program
