Meta is leading a cutting-edge investigation in this space, relying on world-class experts. In this position, you will join Meta's ultrasonic sensing team to investigate the propagation of ultrasonic waves in complex media using both experiments and simulations, explore different ultrasound carrier frequencies, modulation waveforms, launch configurations, transducers and body coupling, and estimate fundamental wave propagation parameters, such as dispersion, attenuation, and group velocity.Our internships are twelve (12) to twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.

You will develop and validate objective measurement tools for cochlear implant systems to assess implant function, auditory pathway integrity, and improve patient outcomes. This role bridges auditory neuroscience, engineering, and clinical research to translate physiological signals into clinically and commercially meaningful diagnostics.
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and validate objective CI diagnostic algorithms (e.g., impedances, evoked compound action potentials, eABRs, evoked cortical potentials, etc).
* Build robust, well-documented software measurement tools and analysis frameworks (research-grade to translational prototypes) using various environment from embedded level to application layer
* Collaborate closely with systems, firmware, clinical, and product teams to align algorithms with hardware and system constraints.
* Prepare and coordinate pre-clinical research and studies across multiple centers/locations/time-zones.

The Cedars-Sinai Biomedical Imaging Research Institute (BIRI) is an interdisciplinary research program established in 2010 to develop and apply state-of-the-art imaging technologies to today's most pressing translational research and clinical questions. Led by founding director Debiao Li, PhD, the program builds on Cedars-Sinai's clinical and research strefngths, with the ultimate goal of using novel medical imaging technology to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases. The BIRI team is dedicated to educating and training the next generation of the brightest imaging scientists and clinicians through our robust pre-/post-doctoral and visiting-scientist training programs. In this role, the Postdoctoral Scientist will be expected to work independently under the direction of Dr. Cokic and in close cooperation, as well as consultation, with other research staff. This interdisciplinary preclinical project combines advanced cardiac imaging, cardiac (electro)physiology, cardioimmunology, cardiovascular pathology, and metabolomics. In addition, assisting with investigating clinical applications of novel magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET) techniques for diagnosing, phenotyping and risk-stratifying subjects with MI. Clinical training involves the evaluation, treatment, and referral of our undergraduate and graduate students. There are extensive opportunities to work with both male and female late adolescents and young adults, and, to a lesser extent, with adults of other ages.
There are rich opportunities to treat a very diverse clientele in terms of ethnicity, gender, culture, and socioeconomic background. The clientele presents with a wide range of problems including adjustment difficulties, relationship concerns, major affective disorders, eating disorders, substance abuse, learning disabilities, anxiety disorders, and often present in psychological crisis.
The clinical caseload is generally 16-20 hours per week and includes intake/assessment, crisis management, and individual and group psychotherapy. It is expected that the trainees take advantage of the many opportunities to participate in campus outreach and education. Residents are also responsible for supervising a group of undergraduate peer educators. The remaining hours are spent in supervision, outreach, case consultation, seminars, and chart documentation.

Requisite Qualifications
* A Doctorate degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA- accredited program by the time of hire.
* Completion of a pre-doctoral internship that, at a minimum, meets APPIC standards.
* Counseling experience in a university setting preferred.
* Knowledge and experience working with college age developmental issues and more severe psychological disturbances.
* Evidence of sensitivity and understanding of the diverse socioeconomic, cultural, religious, ethnic and academic backgrounds of college students.
* Demonstrated experience providing outreach and consultation.
