The Cox laboratory at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a full-time staff research scientist to accelerate the development of novel technologies for probing protein-RNA interactions at scale. Our laboratory aims to solve the fundamental challenge of predicting protein-RNA complex structures directly from sequence by integrating high-throughput experimental data with machine learning methods. In this role, you will perform professional research in support of our scientific mission. You will contribute to developing research goals for the laboratory, work collaboratively with the Lab Head to determine optimal research methods, and independently perform scientific procedures requiring professional judgment. CORE DUTIES:
Research & Technical Development:
Design, develop, and perform specialized experimental procedures for protein-RNA interaction studies, including high-throughput sequencing-based assays
Identify methodological challenges in research protocols and implement innovative solutions to optimize experimental outcomes
Evaluate emerging technologies and lead the integration of new methodologies into laboratory workflows
Troubleshoot complex experimental systems and maintain laboratory instrumentation

Required Qualifications:

The Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR) at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks a thoughtful and innovative postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team developing autonomous drone systems for wildfire prevention.
This NASA-funded position, in close collaboration with NASA Goddard Space Flight Center scientists, offers a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge robotics to protect communities and ecosystems from catastrophic wildfires.
Working alongside experts in robotics, forest ecology, remote sensing, and fire science, you'll be developing autonomous navigation systems that enable drones to fly safely beneath forest canopies, collecting critical data that current technologies cannot capture. This meaningful work directly supports forest managers in making informed decisions that safeguard both human communities and natural ecosystems.
Candidates should have the ability to work both independently and as part of a small, close-knit team, as well as the ability to perform fieldwork in mountain forest environments, including hiking on uneven terrain while carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs) and working outdoors in various weather conditions.

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Dr. Won C. Yim's laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to a multi-institutional, federally funded project focused on improving the productivity of Opuntia (cactus pear) as a sustainable bioenergy feedstock through integrated genomic, metagenomic, and systems-level modeling of plant-microbe-soil interactions. This position provides a unique opportunity to work at the interface of plant genomics, metagenome analysis, and computational systems biology, in collaboration with researchers at national laboratories (PNNL, NREL) and USDA research centers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead bioinformatics analysis for large-scale genomic and metagenomic datasets derived from Opuntia and other desert-adapted plants.
* Develop, optimize, and deploy genome assembly, annotation, and functional profiling pipelines using long-read and Hi-C sequencing data.

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join Dr. Won C. Yim's laboratory in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to a multi-institutional, federally funded project focused on improving the productivity of Opuntia (cactus pear) as a sustainable bioenergy feedstock through integrated genomic, metagenomic, and systems-level modeling of plant-microbe-soil interactions. This position provides a unique opportunity to work at the interface of plant genomics, metagenome analysis, and computational systems biology, in collaboration with researchers at national laboratories (PNNL, NREL) and USDA research centers.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead bioinformatics analysis for large-scale genomic and metagenomic datasets derived from Opuntia and other desert-adapted plants.
* Develop, optimize, and deploy genome assembly, annotation, and functional profiling pipelines using long-read and Hi-C sequencing data.
* Integrate genomic and metagenomic results to identify key determinants of productivity and stress resilience in Opuntia.
* Collaborate with molecular biologists, computational scientists, and agronomists to translate omics insights into physiological and ecological interpretations.
* Prepare data visualizations, manuscripts, and conference presentations for dissemination of project results.
