We're building a practical interface drawing on the rich neuromotor signals that can be measured non-invasively via surface electromyography (EMG) with single motor neuron resolution. The Department of Medicine has initiated a search for a faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level (Tenure or Research Scholar Pathway) in the Division of Infectious Disease. We are seeking outstanding candidates with established research program and a commitment to medical education. We seek a PhD-level epidemiologist (or equivalent terminal degree) with postdoctoral training and a record of external funding, commensurate with career stage. Experience securing funding from diverse sources is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate will join the NIH-funded Translational Global Infectious Disease Research (TGIR) Center as a key faculty member and will have two primary responsibilities:
* Establish and maintain an independent, externally funded research program in human infectious disease epidemiology that complements and enhances existing TGIR faculty expertise.
* Direct and expand the TGIR Center's Human and Population Research (HPR) Core, which supports faculty conducting human and population-based research on globally important infectious diseases. The Division of Infectious Diseases includes 17 clinical faculty members, 1 ID pharmacist, 3 advanced practice providers, and an infectious diseases clinical fellowship. The Maverick Lloyd School for the Environment at Vermont Law and Graduate School invites applications for one visiting or research faculty appointment in aquaculture law or policy, with a term of one to three years. We seek candidates with expertise in any aspect of aquaculture law or policy to take a leading role in advancing VLGS's emerging aquaculture initiative, which aims to examine and tackle the environmental, community, and animal welfare implications of industrial aquaculture and to promote reforms to combat the expansion of harmful aquaculture. The successful candidate will propose and implement a research, teaching, and/or policy reform agenda, working closely with colleagues addressing aquaculture issues in the Animal Law and Policy Institute, the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems, and other VLGS programs.

Details Work closely with the PI to collect, process, and manage the large acoustic collection from the PI's lab. Participate in fieldwork within and outside the US deploying acoustic sensors, assisting in drone deployments and collecting behavioral data from the research boat. The technician will also contribute to data analysis, address computational challenges, and when needed participate in the training and mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students in a research context. Details This position will serve as laboratory research technician in the Symeonides laboratory in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. Primary duties will be to conduct scientific experiments.
