This role reports to our Staff Data Scientist leading AI design, prototyping, and experimentation across Tanium products and solutions. As an AI Research Scientist Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging real-world problems, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to building intelligent systems that will shape the future of autonomous IT across endpoint management, exposure management, and security operations. The purpose of this position is to provide the intern with training in clinical research including hypothesis generation and testing, data collection, basic statistical analysis, scientific writing and presentation and review of the literature. The position is designed to embed the individual in a clinical research program that will also allow them to acquire specialized clinical skills such as gait evaluation, MRI, and electrophysiological studies. Other Duties and Responsibilities The person in this position will perform research in the canine spinal cord injury program. They will be responsible for data acquisition and optimization on gait, cognition, sensation, as well as blood and MRI biomarkers and questionnaires and owner communications. The Markmann Lab at UNC -Chapel Hill is seeking a senior Research Specialist to work enthusiastically on protein expression, purification, and structural studies of monoclonal antibodies targeting dengue and Zika viruses. Additionally, we utilize cloning studies to elucidate cross-neutralizing serum antibody responses to dengue and Zika virus infections. We are a BSL2 lab, utilizing x-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, human memory B cell cloning, viral neutralization assays, and other epitope mapping studies to understand this, with the ultimate goal of informing cross-protective vaccine design. Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. The scope of work of this research assistant in the field of oral epidemiology is to assist in all phases of ongoing studies of the interplay of social determinants of health, oral health behaviors and early childhood oral health. This research assistant will be involved in all phases of research projects including proposal writing, IRB submission and correspondence, literature review, data collection and quality control, developing semi-structured interviews for qualitative research, data summaries, data analysis (both quantitative and qualitative research), preparation of manuscripts, scientific presentations, and submission to journals for eventual publication. The applicant is preferred to have experience in qualitative research, interact with a large population of Spanish-speaking population therefore a bilingual (Spanish-english) applicant is preferred.
