The Department of Diabetes Immunology within the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute (AR-DMRI) at City of Hope has an opening for a tenure-track associate or full professor. AR-DMRI is a component of the Beckman Research Institute (BRI) at City of Hope. Our research depth in diabetes and cancer makes this institution unique, providing opportunities for scientific and clinical distinction and collaboration across disciplines, for example cross-talk between diabetes immunologists, cancer immunologists, and beta cell biologists. City of Hope is also home to the Wanek Family Project for Type 1 Diabetes, a philanthropic partnership designed to advance novel therapies for type 1 diabetes. The Wanek Family Project and a Department of Diabetes Immunology are directed by Alberto Pugliese, who joined City of Hope in October 2022. The Department has strong focus on human type 1 diabetes and translation.
We are looking to hire a Tenure-Track Professor who has an interest in understanding islet autoimmunity and more broadly the disease pathogenesis at the preclinical and/or clinical levels and with the desire to translate promising insights into biomarkers, treatments and potential cures for type 1 diabetes.

JOB SUMMARY
The Leonard Transportation Center (LTC) at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position. This one-year, full-time appointment offers an annual salary of $65,000 with full CSU benefits and potential support for professional development such as conference travel.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct independent and collaborative research, publish scholarly work, and support LTC's mission. Candidates with expertise in transportation systems, logistics, or supply chain management-particularly those applying quantitative, computational, or data-driven approaches-are encouraged to apply. Interest or experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Big Data Analysis is preferred. Responsibilities include research (85%), mentoring student researchers, assisting with grant proposal development, and contributing to outreach and workforce initiatives (15%).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in a relevant discipline such as Transportation Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Information Systems;
2-5 years of research experience;
A record or promise of scholarly publications, and strong analytical, writing, and teamwork skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include research experience in transportation or mobility, grant writing, leadership skills, and familiarity with research or educational technologies.

Our Non-Capital Habeas Unit represents petitioners in non-capital habeas proceedings who allege that their state convictions are invalid due to federal constitutional violations.
Job Duties: Post-bar and public interest fellows will have an opportunity to work on cases in our trial, appellate, capital habeas, or non-capital habeas units. The fellows will work in their assigned unit under the supervision of an attorney. The fellows will be able to work directly with and on behalf of federal criminal defendants. The fellows will have the opportunity to assist with court hearings and, if applicable, trials.
Requirements: All applicants must be a recent law school graduate who is awaiting the bar exam and/or bar results.

Climbing
Team members must infrequently navigate stairs or climb a ladder to change prices on signs, wash walls, perform maintenance.
Stooping/Bending
Forward bending at the waist is necessary at the pizza assembly station.
Toe room is present, but workers are unable to flex their knees while standing at this station.
Duration of this position is approximately 30 - 45 seconds at one time, repeated continuously during the day.
Forward bending is also present at the front counter and when stocking ingredients.
Crouching/Squatting
Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
Reaching
Reaching is performed continuously; up, down and forward.
Workers reach above 72" occasionally to turn on/off oven controls, change prices on sign, and lift and lower objects to and from shelves.

This role assists in processing payroll information and produces client specific payroll checks, invoices and standard payroll reports for Insperity's client companies. This position is also responsible for upholding the integrity of the client and employee data base and ensures all compliances are met.
Responsibilities:

Observes, learns and services a specified number of clients by receiving employee paperwork, which includes new hires, employee changes and terminations.
Receives payroll information from clients or Payroll Specialists, processes payroll information and produces client specific payroll checks, invoices and standard payroll reports.
Ensures accuracy of payroll input, balancing input to payroll worksheet and payroll reports to clients.
Coordinates with the Finance Department, when necessary, and follows through with the client to ensure funds are received.
Provides backup documentation to Finance Department, if needed, for wires.
Maintains accurate delivery instructions for each payroll in the system.
Trains with the Payroll team, Supervisor and Payroll Trainers to develop skill levels.
Builds and maintains client load to gain payroll experience and knowledge of accepted payroll practices.
Attends weekly department training meetings and reviews procedure manual on an ongoing basis.
Establishes clear communications with client, employees and team members in order to better serve the client.
Consults with Supervisor and Payroll Trainer when responding to new or different questions from clients and employees.
Pursues self-development and effective relationships with others by sharing resources, information, and knowledge with coworkers and customers; listening, responding to, and seeking performance feedback; acknowledging strengths and weaknesses; assessing and responding to the needs of others; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Actively pursuing or having obtained a bachelor's degree is required. A bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
GPA of 3.0 or higher
Assists in operating data entry equipment; maintaining and monitoring employee records with accuracy and detail with narrow time limitations; maintaining records, posting data and making arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy; clerical methods and techniques relating to maintaining large filing systems accurately and efficiently.
Ability to solve problems and make decisions, following established company policy guidelines; methods and techniques relating to establishing and maintaining customer service; communicating clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing; following verbal and written instructions; working independently from general instructions; and maintaining effective work relations with those encountered in the course of employment.

A Research Associate II position is available in the laboratory of Leo D. Wang, MD, PhD, at City of Hope, Duarte, CA.
The lab's research in the Department of Immuno-Oncology focuses on how blood and immune cells develop, function, and interact with other cells, with a second focus on how blood stem cells become malignant. We use mass spectrometry to identify activated protein circuits in rare blood stem and progenitor cell populations, including therapeutic chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells, and use that knowledge to improve and devise new therapies for pediatric cancers and blood disorders.
As a successful candidate, you will:
* Coordinate lab tasks and operations, including ordering, inventory, and other essential functions.
* Prepare laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and maintain equipment.
* Perform a variety of routine and non-routine laboratory research experiments. Record and validate results and methodology for accuracy and completeness.
* Perform preclinical rodent work (mouse handling, screening, injections, and analysis). Troubleshoot procedures if experiment results are unexpected or unsatisfactory. Recommend alternative procedures.
