Working under direct supervision, the Research Associate II performs routine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks and procedures and develops technical expertise in one or more areas relevant to research projects. The Research Associate II will participate in research activities involving all aspects of the research process, to include, but not limited to; investigation, technical, testing/validation of results, and report findings. The Associate will perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of laboratory research projects. The Associate will observe and comply with safety standards and procedures, assist in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings, and assist in general laboratory maintenance. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
What are the Primary Duties and Responsibilities?
Performs a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and procedures and assist in the design of new complex or unusual protocols and techniques.
Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, and assist in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results.
Orders laboratory supplies and supports laboratory operations.
Maintains lab equipment and related records and may coordinate use of lab equipment.
Assists in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.
Assists in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
Observes and complies with safety standards and procedures.
Orients research laboratory assistants or lower level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelors in science related field required
One (1) years of Research laboratory experience required
Familiar with routine laboratory procedures, experimental protocols, and overall lab organization
Applicant must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
Must have superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills and the ability to work across company disciplines and functional units, and computer application experience.
Must possess computer skills to include, but not limited to, Excel and Word.
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple clerical trials, and attention to details.

Responsibilities

Activities may include conducting and writing literature reviews, data gathering/cleaning, programming in R or Python, item and exam analyses with CTT and IRT, performing statistical analyses such as DIF or regression analysis, writing reports, and delivering presentations.

Our current application of e-commerce, making an optimal purchase decision - considering user preferences, millions of products, and billions of reviews - already requires a world model and a logical consistency far beyond the state of the art.
Even OpenAI's o3 can't rid itself of the problem of hallucination, and there are no sufficiently robust bolt-on solutions for context finiteness (RAG is not enough), catastrophic forgetting, or many other fundamental problems afflicting current-gen AI systems. Contra OpenAI, we believe that scale is not all you need. These challenges can only be addressed at the architectural level.

Have significant software, ML, or research engineering experience
Command a deep, principled understanding of the current state of the field of AI, especially neurosymbolic approaches.

As a Trainee Research Executive, you will be involved in all stages of the project cycle from research design, questionnaire and discussion guide creation, planning fieldwork and associated logistics, analyzing and interpreting final data to crafting impactful client presentations. The opportunity for travel is also contained within the role - whether that be to our different offices, to view fieldwork globally or to attend client meetings. This role is a full time permanent position based in Manhattan, NYC. We work on a hybrid model with at least 2 days in office. Whilst you are training there may be a need for more frequent days in office.

Kohan Foundation Counseling Center is currently hiring hybrid Psychotherapist (Associate and Intern Therapist) to join our collaborative, supportive team in Los Angeles, CA. Please Note: This role includes a mix of in-person and telehealth client sessions. Supervision is provided via telehealth. Therapists are expected to be available for some in-person hours ( 4-5 hours per week ) at our Culver City office.

Requirements:
Master's degree in a relevant mental health field
Active BBS registration (Associate number required)
Experience with individuals, couples, and families preferred
Ability to use Practice Mate calendar (training provided)
Role Overview:
Provide psychotherapy services through a combination of in-person and telehealth sessions
Maintain accurate and timely progress notes and treatment plans
Attend quarterly team meetings in person
Participate in weekly group supervision (held via telehealth)
Qualifications:
Strong academic background in counseling or mental health
Familiarity with DSM-V and treatment planning
