The Parents And Children Together (PACT) initiative, directed by Dr. Dawn Witherspoon with Associate Director Dr. Martha Wadsworth, and the Coping and Regulation of Environment Stress (CaRES) Lab, directed by Dr. Martha Wadsworth, invite applications for a Human Research Technologist to serve as an outreach coordinator. The anticipated start date is as soon as possible.
The Human Research Technologist will have the opportunity to work as part of the PACT multidisciplinary team of investigators, community members, and community organizations who collaborate to promote the health and well-being of children, youth, and families from diverse backgrounds through culturally sensitive and community-engaged research.
The individual will also have the opportunity to work on a NIMH-funded study, investigating the efficacy of the Building a Strong Identity and Coping Skills (BaSICS) program in the CaRES lab, which is a group-based, team-building coping and empowerment intervention developed specifically to meet the needs of youth growing up in poverty.
The Human Research Technologist will communicate and engage with the greater Harrisburg community by attending community outreach events, assisting and developing participant recruitment strategies, and participating in data collection activities.
For PACT, this position will be responsible for developing and sustaining relationships and partnerships with Latine-serving organizations in the greater Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, region (and tracking these efforts) and supporting recruitment and assessment activities of PACT-affiliated projects.
For the CaRES Lab, the Human Research Technologist will be responsible for assisting the Project Director in maintaining contact with partner agencies in the Harrisburg area and assisting with administrative duties, including for the BaSICS study.
This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends, primarily to accommodate the availability of participating families and outreach events. Onsite office work would be done at the PACT lab in Harrisburg, with regular offsite work.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Administrative duties include data collection, recruitment tracking, and meeting documentation
Attend team meetings and provide regular updates
Train and oversee volunteers and students in activities related to outreach, recruitment, and data collection
