Description & Details Assist research scientist in all aspects of research including but are not limited to variety evaluation trials, cropping systems studies, crop, soil, water, nutrient and pest management experiments. This includes planning and planting, irrigation scheduling, plot maintenance, weed control, sample collection, processing and laboratory analysis, data collection and processing, and repair and maintenance of field equipment. Support project leader in disseminating research results by participating in field days, tours, preparing reports and creating presentations. Work conditions include chemical applications and a seasonal outdoor working environment.
Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. During planting and harvest season there may be longer days in the field.
Hiring Range: $50,000.00 to $70,000.00, DOE.

The estimated pay range for this role is $15.00 - $20.00/hour. Offers to top candidates are based on various factors such as previous experience and level of education completed.

A day in the life
The Intern position is a formal training/development position with specific responsibilities within a defined functional area. Each intern has an individual work plan outlining specific duties and projects for the duration of the internship as well as overall goals for the internship period. A designated mentor will provide supervision, guidance and support.
Your responsibilities will include
* Job responsibilities are outlined in an individual work plan for each intern position; however, assignments will generally include the following types of job duties:
* Learns organizational processes and procedures to support department staff with general tasks and projects.
* Develops professional skills through on-the-job learning, technical training and department exposure.
* Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Develops an understanding of what each department does within the organization through cross functional meetings and informational sessions.
* Demonstrates professional workplace behaviors, is punctual and presents an appropriate appearance.
* Performs other duties as assigned by designated leader and/or mentor.
* Performs work under direct supervision. Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
* Quality Improvement Support - help track performance metrics and prepare materials for program and quality initiatives.
* Public Health Research - conduct literature reviews and summarize best practices in Medicaid and population health.
* Provider & Member Insights - support analysis of provider performance and member engagement trends.
* Project Support - assist with Medicaid program initiatives, preparing presentations, dashboards, and briefing materials.
* Policy & Compliance Review - summarize state and federal updates relevant to Medicaid managed care.
* Demonstrates professional workplace behaviors, is punctual and presents an appropriate appearance. Respects company policies and demonstrates ethical conduct.
What you need to succeed
* Currently completing post-secondary studies in Law, Political Science, Public Relations, Government Relations or be a recent graduate.
* Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Organized and attentive to detail.
* Ability to take initiative in a team environment.
* Collaborates with team members, mentors, and leaders within the organization.
* Coachable with a highly motivated work ethic.
* Basic Microsoft Office skills.
* Experience with different data analytics tools is a plus!
