Day-to-Day
The Research Associate will collect face and body data gathered from large-scale capture domes and VR headsets by:
Staging and setting-up equipment for the study, which may include engaging with engineering, external equipment vendors, internal and external safety evaluators, and the research study team to ensure the equipment is set up properly.
Conducting the study, including participant coaching and interaction, operating complex, experimental capture systems, and debriefing with team leadership as necessary
Performing basic troubleshooting of capture systems (hardware and software) and escalate any bugs or issues using internal tools.
Providing research study support, including data collection, tracking of participants, and tracking of equipment and procedures.
Contributing to and/or update existing documentation.
Serving as a participant for studies and being captured in various systems as needed.
Completing project work related to captures such as recording and updating capture scripts.
Attending all required trainings, meetings, and standups
Providing feedback for process improvement areas
Expectations for Success
To be able to successfully execute on the day-to-day responsibilities above, the Research Associate is expected to:
Review SOPs and other any other relevant documentation and consult with the responsible Lead for any questions or clarifications in advance of the capture.
Stay up to date with process and SOP changes for frequently used systems.
Arrive on-time for captures and allow additional time, if needed, to review unfamiliar systems or SOPs and for operational set up
Arrive on-time and prepared with relevant information or materials for all required trainings, meetings, and standups.
Approach each capture and project with ability and flexibility. Be prepared to quickly pivot to new tasks, approaches to capture, or steps in documented processes to keep the team moving forward, even during blocking events.
Provide a comfortable and professional experience for participants (both internal and external) through all interactions including providing updates and breaks during troubleshooting or other capture-blocking events.
Ensure highest quality and accuracy of data captured by maintaining a sterile and distraction-free capture environment.
Escalate any issues to the Engineer Team and properly documenting, in-detail, the nature of the issue.
Address any areas for improvement of the capture process in scheduled meetings and/or via internal feature request tools.
Identify (or partner with the Team Lead(s)) projects and tasks that can be completed during larger blocking events and during planned and unplanned system downtime.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: 2:30-11pm EST
Compensation: $22/hour
Paid Time Off/ Paid Sick Time: 15 Days/ 120 hours (10 PTO Days + 5 Sick Days)

The Research Lead AI Cyber Testing & Evaluation will serve as a senior technical leader, directing a comprehensive research portfolio focused on assessing the offensive cyber capabilities of frontier AI models.
This role involves managing significant research budgets and personnel, overseeing complex technical and policy analysis projects, and leading multidisciplinary teams of policy researchers, engineers, and scientists. The team will build systems to evaluate AI model performance across the full attack lifecycle, including resource development, initial access, discovery, lateral movement, and defense evasion.
Projects may include developing benchmarks for fully autonomous operations using scaffolding and tools, as well as uplift of both novice and expert humans. Benchmarks may involve capture-the-flag (CTF) challenges, frameworks for assessing reasoning over attack graphs and multi-stage operations, evaluations of stealth and defense evasion capabilities, and assessments of time-sensitive operations at machine speed.
Many evaluations will be commissioned by government agencies, with results shaping responsible AI policy worldwide. Findings will be communicated through detailed technical analyses, evaluation frameworks, and quick-turnaround policy briefs, directly informing recommendations for senior policymakers, regulators, the intelligence community, other governments, and industry leaders.
This position is structured as a focused two-year appointment to drive urgent and ambitious change in this rapidly evolving field. The appointment may be renewed for an additional year, with potential opportunities for longer-term employment thereafter.
Qualifications
Required:
6+ years of technical experience in security engineering, software engineering, firmware engineering, hardware engineering, or related fields.
6+ years of technical management experience, including leading cross-functional teams, managing project budgets, and mentoring/developing team members.
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead complex projects to completion.
Proficiency in Python, Java, C/C++, or other popular programming languages.
Experience with red team operations or offensive cyber capabilities development.
Ability to develop rigorous threat models and identify potential system vulnerabilities.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

General Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain accurate sample and laboratory records. Document activities in electronic notebook system.
Support TCR discovery platform operations by assisting in developing and implementing novel strategies to identify antigen-specific TCRs
Conducting PCR, cloning, and colony screening assays.
Conducting bacterial transformation, propagation, and purification of plasmid DNA
Conducting lentivirus production, purification, and banking
Development and implementation of co-culture assays to identify novel TCRs
Sterile culture techniques and cell sorting (including at the single cell level) to maintain and establish new cell lines for the functional characterization of TCRs
Characterize cells using multiparameter flow cytometry and subsequent data analysis.
Organize and conduct assigned studies independently. Notably, the incumbent must be capable of troubleshooting various aspects of assay implementation.
Work closely within the development team to advance technology platform and TCR candidates
Assist in developing data packages and reports for internal corporate activities and regulatory submissions.
Present regularly at team meetings.

Mammalian Cell Culture: immortalized and primary adherent, and non-adherent cells
T cell biology: Isolation and in vitro maintenance of PBMC, including CD4+ and CD8+ primary T cells. T cell activation, gene modification, and expansion for downstream functional assays including TCR-dextramer binding, activation assays (proliferation, cell based killing assays, analysis of cytokine secretion, etc.)
Flow Cytometry: Strong background in multi-color flow cytometry [4 channel flow cytometry analysis preferred] of primary human immune cells and cell lines
Molecular Cloning: vector design, restriction enzyme analysis of expression vectors, restriction independent cloning [In-Fusion and/or Gibson]
Lentiviral technology: Understanding of LV packaging systems and LV expression vector components; experience in LV vector isolation and generation of recombinant lentivirus; lentiviral applications: transduction of immortalized and primary cells focusing on primary human PBMC and T cells
DNA/RNA isolation and nucleic acid technologies: PCR, RT-PCR and Q-RTPCR; familiarity with NGS and RNA-Seq, genomic DNA PCR and Sanger sequencing; familiarity with 10x genomics sc RNA seq workflow; isolation of vector DNA (mini, midi, maxi and mega preps), agarose gel electrophoresis and DNA/RNA fragment isolation from agarose gel
