The Epidemiologist Research Associate is responsible for all infectious disease surveillance, investigations and interventions utilizing state-of-the-art public health principles, and methodologies of the science of epidemiology. Agency Description The Citizens Police Oversight Commission (CPOC) is an independent agency composed of staff dedicated to professional, unbiased, and thoughtful oversight of the Philadelphia Police Department (PPD). CPOC works to: Increase the transparency and accountability of the PPD Improve police conduct Enhance the quality of internal investigations Improve the relationship between the community and the police department Civilian oversight of police can take many forms. Review-focused models allow civilians outside of a police department to review police misconduct investigations once they are completed. Investigation-focused agencies employ professionally trained investigators to investigate police misconduct complaints. Auditor/monitor-focused agencies engage in policy and trend analysis and promote broad organizational change within the police departments they oversee. Job Description Position Summary The Auditing, Policy, and Research Division of CPOC uses data, information, and research to review PPD policies and practices; these reviews are targeted in nature and responsive to trends or themes identified through CPOC's work, current events, or community concerns. Pre-/Post-Doctoral Fellowship, Institute of Clinical Bioethics Time Type: Full time and Qualifications: The clinical ethics pre-doctoral/post-doctoral fellowship provides an opportunity for a doctoral candidate or recent Ph.D. in bioethics to assist the director and assistant directors of the Institute of Clinical Bioethics (ICB) at St Joseph's University in the areas of education, consultation, teaching rounds, administration, and research within the university as well as the hospitals and nursing homes affiliated with the Institute. The Biobank and Molecular Analysis Program (BMAP) at Nemours Children's Health is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Technologist to perform a primary specimen processing and shipping role in the CAP accredited program. This individual will work under the supervision of senior laboratory staff and performs some assignments independently as discussed and approved by senior lab staff. This individual will conduct routine specimen processing, data entry, and shipping, focusing on projects in support of Hematology/Oncology studies, including blood fractionation, mononuclear cell extraction, and tissue culture. Additional responsibilities include assisting in processing clinical trial specimens, monitoring reagents and supplies, as well as assisting senior laboratory staff in the processing of core facility specimens and specialized instrumentation. Maintains both handwritten and computerized records of work performed. Assists in implementation of new laboratory protocols and processes, and maintenance of lab equipment. Performs basic safety functions in the lab, including testing of equipment. Performs basic data analysis; prepares tables/charts/graphs and assists in organizing data. Participates at research laboratory meetings.
