The day-to-day duties of an ORD staffer vary depending on the activity of the General Assembly. Duties include:Drafting legislation in the form of bills and amendments at the direction of legislators and their staff;Researching topics on behalf of legislators and providing written or verbal summaries to the member or their staff;Analyzing legislation;Attending committee hearings, tracking bills as they move through the legislative process, and providing assistance to legislators on the committee;Creating written resources for the General Assembly on topics of interest.Salary and benefits The current starting salary for new professional ORD staff is $65,000.
