External applicants must be eligible to work in the US. You Role: MilliporeSigma in Bellefonte, PA is seeking an Associate Production Scientist. In this role you will manufacture or evaluate gas chromatographic (GC) capillary products according to established protocols, provide technical support to others, and perform operations in support of the group and department. Responsibilities: * Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations while ensuring quality throughout the process * Perform routine assays, processes and/or unit operations and complete the volume of work required to achieve group/departmental goals and meet deadlines * Contribute to support functions of the lab (e.g., maintain equipment, prepare reagents, restock lab supplies, waste disposal) * Communicate the status of operations and bring deviations to the attention of supervisor * Provide complete and accurate records consistent with quality guidelines including completing applicable logbooks completely * Perform and interpret analytical evaluations of products and intermediates * Accurately perform procedures independently * Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in change control through application of scientific knowledge, experience, and principles Physical attributes: * Utilizing normal vision * Using hand tools, balances, pumps, ovens, various laboratory equipment, and synthesis glassware and glassware setup * Lifting and moving materials weighing between 15-50 lbs. * Working at standing bench height and hood level * Handling chemicals safely with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) Who You Are: Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or other Life Science field Preferred Qualifications: * Willingness to train for 6-12 months to learn specifics of job adequately to work independently * 1+ years of work experience in laboratory or industrial setting * Knowledge in chemistry or biochemistry, math and general science * Familiarity with laboratory instruments and production equipment * Independent lab research * Experience with process techniques and unit operations, analytical techniques and equipment * Safe chemical handling methods * Knowledge of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) Quality standards * Excellent communication skills both oral and written * Proficient computer, mechanical, troubleshooting and organizational skills Pay Range for this position: $24.00 - $41.00 The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
