The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). Job Summary This advanced position involves both senior technical and supervisory level for training graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The person in this role will help the PI write papers and grant proposals, combine innovative mouse genetic molecular and cell biology, plan and design experiments and design complex proteomic experiments, analysis of complex set of data from microarray using Ingenuity System Pathway Analysis and analysis of complex data from ChIP-Seq experiments. Responsibilities The responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Participate in project planning and development of research protocols. * Conduct experiments and analyze results of experiments including experiments in Biochemistry. * Determine need for new supplies and equipment; Make responsible purchasing decisions, place orders, maintain computer database and hard copies for inventory and equipment service records. Responsible for keeping laboratory and equipment functional; Coordinate daily operation and cleanliness of the laboratory. Prepare/update of animal use, biosafety and chemical protocols. Maintain laboratory record keeping, laboratory supplies inventory and frozen stocks of cell cultures. Work with small animals, maintain cell and mouse lines. * Attend lab meetings and discuss results, offer opinions and insight on technical problem solving and future scientific directions. * Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned. Required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years research and/or clinical experience.
