Purpose Assist an interdisciplinary research team in the Bipolar Disorder Center / Almeida lab at Dell Medical School, Department of Psychiatry and Behavior Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin with collecting and analyzing psychological and neuroimaging measures for the bipolar and major depressive disorder population. Responsibilities Develop, collect, conduct, and analyze research projects including psychological measures using standard interviews (self-report and/or clinician based) and neuroimaging measures as part of a team of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate assistants. Assist with data entry and database management. Assist with IRB submission & management Review medical records and conduct screenings for study recruitment. Execute data collection procedure and assessment and assist with subject recruitment, including obtaining consent of research subjects. Help with subject management, scheduling and reimbursement. Provide exceptional and tactful support to research subjects via phone, email, etc. Assist with manuscripts and publications (authorship will depend on candidate's initiative). Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two years of research experience in psychiatry, psychology, public health, social work, counseling, or related discipline. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree with relevant laboratory experience in clinical research and/or mental/behavioral health field. Experience designing and managing REDCap database. Experience with quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis. Experience with analyzing psychological and neuroimaging measures for the bipolar and major depressive disorder population. Prior experience with peer-review manuscript preparation and/or presenting at research conferences. Role Overview: You will support technology initiatives that advance our broader Living Labs. You will play a key role in executing and managing clinical research studies focused on hydration science, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring research is conducted to the highest ethical and scientific standards. The position involves diagnostic semen analysis Preparation and care of gametes/embryos throughout the laboratory process: IVF, ICSI, VIT, ET, Thaw and PGD Cryopreservation and thawing of embryos at varying stages of development Assessing fertilization and zygote quality following insemination Records and reports results in Artworks TBSA, PESA, TESA and TESE collection Oocyte denuding and ICSI insemination PGD biopsy Responsible for embryo discharge and storage Responsible for donor sperm/embryo tracking under FDA regulations What You'll Bring: Must have appropriate college degree and graduated with a “B” average or greater in a relevant laboratory science; 3.0 or above overall GPA strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years of Embryology Experience preferred Must have ICSI and embryo biopsy experience Must demonstrate the ability to function effectively without direct supervision, and to perform laboratory services in accord with the Laboratory Philosophy and Operating Standards. Proven ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Knowledge of office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.). RESPONSIBILITIES Complete Vytelle's specialized training program designed to prepare team members for fieldwork at our satellite locations for oocyte collection and in the IVF lab. Travel between the employee's residence and the home base is considered standard commuting and is therefore not eligible for mileage reimbursement.
