The Tulane Center for Biomedical Informatics and Genomics (CBG) at the Tulane University School of Medicine (SOM) is seeking outstanding applicants for multiple research-track assistant/associate/full professor positions in the various omics, bioinformatics, health informatics, or translational research in complex diseases. will lead the current funded NIH projects related to neuroinflammation in aging and Alzheimer's diseases, and study the impact of neurotrophic virus on the neurovascular functions. The RA2/3 will continue ongoing investigations into the molecular basis of HER3-driven TNBC progression via PHF8. The selected candidate will assist with experiments involving cell culture, gene expression, cell cycle analysis, western blots, immunohistochemistry ( IHC ), immunofluorescence (IF), in vivo animal studies, and general molecular biology. We are investigating the molecular mechanisms of sex steroids and their role in metabolism using transgenic/knockout mouse models and human samples. We are currently looking for a motivated college graduate with background in the biological sciences who wants to get excellent research experience before going to graduate school. This is a full-time position as a Medical Research Technician the Mauvais-Jarvis Lab here at Tulane. Our laboratory provides excellent training in mouse physiology and the ability to be actively involved in publications. Two years commitment necessary. Individual carries out experiments in biology and chemistry as well as animal experiments and data analysis. Provides technical support to the Principal Investigator with ongoing research projects. Organizes and performs data entry using various computer software programs. The Research Associate 2 or 3 (RA2, RA3) will plan, assist, and conduct highly independent research, upon approval of the Principal Investigator, working on research projects. A Research Associate position is available to join the LSUHUSC SPH to perform general duties including, but not limited to, assist in the implementation of the NIH funded Research study(R01) related to LDCT lung cancer Screening and smoking cessation, prepare Institutional Review Board ( IRB ) materials, prepare materials for intervention and recruitment of study participants, track and collect participant information and follow-protocols to ensure study recipients receive participant compensation in accordance with study protocols. Together with the Principal Investigator and research team, the RA is expected to analyze, summarize and organize collected data, draft, edit and revise reports and manuscripts for dissemination of research findings.

The Medical Research Technician is responsible for accurately performing research projects to assist with laboratory experiments, biochemical and molecular biology assays to support Nephrology fellows' research projects as well as support research projects under development by Nephrology faculty. The Research Associate 3 (RA3) will plan, organize, and conduct highly independent research under the direction of the Histopathology Microscopy Core Director. The RA3 is responsible for the scientific operations of the laboratory and may train and supervise junior level staff members. The RA3 will manage and perform Histology Technician duties for the Core lab to include tissue processing, sectioning, advanced detection, imaging, and analysis of gene and protein dynamics in cellular models and normal and cancer tissues from research animals or from patients for all cancer researchers, as well as histochemical and immunohistochemical methodologies to determine protein expression, localization and interactions between viral and cellular proteins. The RA3 is expected to analyze, summarize and organize collected data, purchase supplies and, recommend purchase of new equipment for research projects. The RA3 may also draft, edit, and/or publish results in professional journals.

Position involves working under the direction of Principle Investigator or other designated supervisors, in the studies of cerebral and coronary arteries or cultured vascular and/or neuronal cells in order to characterize mechanisms of normal responses as well as how disease conditions will affect responses. The technician will conduct under supervision in vivo and in vitro experiments to determine the effect and mechanisms of action of vasoactive drugs on cerebral and coronary arteries. The technician will work effectively with other laboratory personnel including Post Docs, technicians, and students. The tech should be familiar with a variety of approaches including video microscopic dimensional analysis of pressurized arterioles, confocal microscopy imaging calcium, reactive oxygen species and membrane potential, immunofluorescence, and performing western blotting and RT-PCR on arteries and tissues.• Molecular Biology Techniques * Experience with biochemical enzyme assay, microscopy, and cell culture preferred * Must have good organizational skills * Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed. * Bachelor's Degree * Prior laboratory research experience with cell culture and molecular biology techniques.

The Research Associate 1 will be responsible to function somewhat independently while assisting with and conducting day-to-day laboratory, routine experiments on research projects, and somewhat independently well-defined guidelines, stays abreast of current publications relative to methods, techniques, and developments within the area of research; collects, prepares, and analyzes specimens (or animal subjects), and evaluates results of (or response to) process; summarizes data.

Seeking a highly motivated full-time Research Associate 1 or 2 to join our research efforts on how neuropeptidergic systems in the brain change with aging. Our lab studies the oxytocin system in the mouse brain, looking at how aging affects brain circuits and influences social behavior and recognition. A primary area of interest is the progression of neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Alzheimer's disease. Our research tools include whole-brain mapping techniques using high-resolution 3D imaging, such as state-of-the-art tissue clearing and light sheet microscopy, along with related computational analysis in rodents.

Research Scientists are individuals holding a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree who play a major role in enabling research programs through collaborative and collegial interactions with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and staff. The rank of the research scientist is a staff appointment. A research scientist may apply his/her effort entirely to research, or a combination of research, training, and lab managerial activities.
