As an Applications Scientist, your role within the organization is to provide our customers with solutions which offer a direct benefit and gain new business as a result. You will act as a support network for the commercial team as well as aiding the development and validation of Treatt products. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide demo support for all sales visits, ensuring that demos are created and dispatched within agreed timescales.
Accurately compound beverage formulas
Create complex applications using product portfolio knowledge.
Assist in the evaluation of flavors in application for briefs/research projects/portfolio evaluation.
Work with sensory team to conduct sensory testing and participate in taste panels and project evaluations as needed.
Support internal and external customers with product information and labelling.
Identify key requirements of a customer brief and work accordingly.
Work collaboratively with global Applications counterparts.
Use market trends to feed into projects and departmental initiatives.
Support Sales Team on customer visits where required.
Attend company and industry events independently.
Have a basic understanding of IT systems used within the department to fulfil the role. These include JDE, STARS, SDS viewer, MADs, WERCs, Cascade, TIPPS, SharePoint and Salesforce.
Carry out basic wet chemistry to analyze prototype samples.
Follow change control procedures for setting up new items, amending BOMs and specifications and issuing Fast Feasibility documents and subsequent scale up processes.
Sample a range of ingredients from stock following health & safety procedures.
Ensure that the working area in the laboratory is maintained in a clean and orderly condition and that any hazard or potential hazard is reported.
Ensure that HACCP protocols are put into effect in the lab.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Work continuously to maximize potential revenue and contribution.
Carryout daily checks on a rotational basis to ensure the working area is maintained to a high level.
Write & review Standard Operating Procedures and Risk Assessments.
Perform such other tasks as are consistent with the general description.
Act in the best interest of Treatt PLC at all times.
Education & Training:
Bachelor's Degree ideally in a food related degree or science.
Minimum of 1 Year experience in a similar role.
Knowledge & Experience:
Experience of handling a range of ingredients used within the F&F and FMCG industry.
Experience developing new products and implementing new technologies.
Advantageous to have started to develop a professional profile in the industry.
In depth understanding of US flavor and beverage regulations

Senior Manager, MED RWE/Epi Scientist
The Senior Manager, RWE/Epi Scientist, position within Medical Evidence Development (MED) Real-World Evidence & Epidemiology (RWE/Epi) provides an opportunity for a collaborative epidemiologist to support real-world evidence and epidemiologic studies as part of Medical strategy across the entire drug development process. The candidate will be responsible for synthesizing the literature and contributing to the design, conduct and reporting of global epidemiologic research studies on Pfizer I&I products. The Senior Manager will also be accountable for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all RWE/Epi deliverables in assigned product/disease area, and maintain an internal network of Pfizer stakeholders to cultivate innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and identify new opportunities for RWE/Epi to increase the value of Pfizer assets. The candidate will develop external partnerships to leverage data resources and collaboration on high priority global studies. Responsibilities include authoring and reviewing study protocols, reports, and presentations, as well as communication in writing and presentations to internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and medical professionals. The candidate will also be responsible for non-study deliverables such as RWE insights, epidemiology literature reviews, regulatory responses, and department initiatives.
This position will report directly to the Hem-Onc Team Lead in RWE/Epi.
Capabilities
Skill and experience identifying, designing and supporting or leading real-world evidence studies of disease epidemiology and effectiveness as part of the global cross-functional Integrated Evidence Plan.
Maintain knowledge and awareness of internal and external data resources and identify appropriate studies for addressing questions of interest, recognizing the limitations and strengths of various design options and data sources
Partner with Chief Medical Office colleagues to address asset team evidence needs and support global regulatory submissions to the FDA, EMA and other agencies.
Deliver rapid insights from real-world, observational data source
Develop and deliver presentations, webinars, manuscripts, scientific data packages or other communication modalities
Assure the highest standards of quality, compliance and management of all research activities
Participate in RWE/Epi peer review of study protocols and study reports
Document all requests and track progress toward project completion, other metrics and business goals
Qualifications
PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics/Biostatistics, Health Outcomes Research, Quantitative Methods, Public Health, Health Economics, or Other Biological Science fields with a substantial quantitative component and at least 1 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, academic and/or medical environment; or, MPH or another relevant Master's degree and at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, academic and/or medical environment, at least 1 of which were in the pharmaceutical industry.
Demonstrated strong quantitative skills and methods expertise to generate rapid insights from real-world / observational data source
Demonstrated strong technical writing skills and oral presentation skills with a track-record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at medical/scientific conferences
Demonstrated ability to convert complex analysis into meaningful insights with data visualization and presentation tools and able to manipulate and analyze complex structured and unstructured data from multiple real world evidence sources.
Ability to work under pressure with a high level of autonomy/leadership on research projects and collaborate with multiple partners in a matrixed environment
Knowledgeable of the external regulatory environment for real-world evidence and maintains awareness of scientific developments in epidemiology, medicine, and technology (e.g., artificial intelligence).

The incumbent serves as a quality assurance biosafety coordinator for the Bronson Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (BADDL). This position will coordinate with the laboratory director, Quality Assurance Manager (QAM), and BADDL staff to ensure that BADDL meets The American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) accreditation standards.
Serve as the backup to the QAM.
Assist the QAM in the Quality Assurance program of the bureau.

Provide advice, resources, and assistance to BADDL personnel for all aspects of the quality system.
Assist in the implementation of the laboratory internal audit program. Including participating in and serving as lead auditor. Communicate audit findings with section personnel and laboratory director. Generate audit reports and any corrective actions that may arise from audit findings.
Review, revise, control, and distribute documents within the quality system.
Assist in and lead quality assurance and biosafety training sessions for laboratory personnel.
Review feedback from customers, generate customer complaints and initiate convective action when necessary.
Assist in the implementation of the biomedical waste and hazardous chemical waste programs.
Coordinate annual maintenance, calibration, and certification of laboratory-wide equipment and biological safety cabinets.

Gather data and present QA reports at the annual BADDL Management meeting and other venues as appropriate.

Assist as a Biological Scientist for the microbiology section. The incumbent is responsible for conducting and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic testing within the microbiology section. Procedures include: Nucleic acid extraction, bacterial culture and identification, polymerase chain reaction, antibody detection, cell culture, and virus isolation.
Participates in internal and external proficiency testing programs to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and maintain the integrity of laboratory results.
Process and distributes samples received in the microbiology sections, meeting Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare and maintain accurate, detailed laboratory records of results, and ensures case coordination of the test results.
Manage the Microbiology laboratory supplies. Determines the supplies that are necessary for full laboratory function and places orders for laboratory supplies. This responsibility includes ensuring that balances, pipettes, pH meters, bio-safety hoods, microscopes, and other similar items are calibrated and maintained in compliance with Quality Assurance Guidelines.
Keep the Microbiology Department Head and supervisor properly informed of the activities of the Section including any potential or real problem that may affect the proper function of the laboratory.

Coordinates for FWC between Monroe County, DEP, and FKNMS on Habitat Support Plan for Monroe County, including providing assistance with permitting, project development, and deployment of habitat support structures.
Works with FWC staff to issue Special Activity Licenses for corals and works with FKNMS on permitting issues relative to corals.
Meets with coral practitioners as needed to discuss agency coral policies.
Participates in the rulemaking process to help the Commission build a record in support of their decisions. Drafts supporting documents in coordination with legal staff.
Serves as a liaison as needed with local, state, and federal agencies on coral and marine fisheries issues.
Assists senior staff in coordinating research projects that are relevant to coral and fisheries management decisions.

The candidate selected for this Career Service position will work with a dynamic team of biologists to protect and conserve gopher tortoises throughout Florida. The selected candidate will work across FWC divisions, partners, and stakeholders to implement the Gopher Tortoise Management Plan and Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines.
This position works in the FWC's Wildlife Diversity Conservation Section (WDC), serving as the South Region's Gopher Tortoise Conservation Biologist. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing gopher tortoise permit applications, including drafting permits and related notices to agency standards. This position occasionally works in the field conducting site visits to areas under consideration for permitting to verify gopher tortoise surveys/population estimates, evaluate habitat suitability for tortoises and other listed species, and document occurrences of other listed species. Site visits are also conducted on permitted areas to ensure compliance with state rules and Species Guidelines. Responsibilities also include reviewing draft conservation easement documents and habitat management plans to implement permit requirements and conservation goals.
This position has the opportunity to participate in team meetings, seminars, and workshops relating to wildlife resource management, as well as other professional development opportunities within and outside FWC. The selected candidate may have the opportunity to participate in outreach activities providing technical and educational information to conservation organizations, professional audiences, schools, and civic groups.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This is a full-time position with the Molluscan Fisheries Research Group based at FWC's Apalachicola Field Lab in Eastpoint, Florida. This position will primarily assist with oyster research and long-term monitoring work in Apalachicola Bay.
Field sampling occurs year-round, in potentially adverse and physically challenging conditions. Field days can reach or exceed 12 hours in duration and may require some overnight travel. A few months of the year will be heavily field-orientated, while others will only have a couple field days. The field duties include but are not limited to participating in monthly oyster spat recruitment sampling, monthly oyster collections, annual oyster population surveys, and annual bay scallop population surveys. Field sampling methods and safety protocols must be adhered to at all times. Population surveys and collections require snorkeling and Scuba diving following AAUS standards. Staff are required to obtain AAUS scientific diving certification through the job within 6 months of employment.
Once samples are collected, the focus will shift to laboratory work. Lab duties include but are not limited to processing oyster recruitment samples, image analysis of oyster shell photos, oyster dissections, and microscopic analysis of histological slides and specimens. All lab work requires close attention to detail and must adhere to safety and processing protocols.
A sizeable portion of the job involves maintenance and preparation of sampling gear, field and lab equipment, vehicles, vessels, and trailers. These maintenance duties range from equipment calibrations, to constructing sampling gear, cleaning used sampling equipment, chemical preparations for samples, and routine vehicle and vessel maintenance.
The ability to effectively manage time is necessary, as this position requires a balance of field sampling, laboratory work, maintenance tasks, and administrative work. Administrative tasks may include data entry, data proofing, submitting travel forms, purchasing, maintaining timesheets, and updating tracking logs. All admin tasks should all be completed in a timely manner. Participation in public outreach events, professional meetings, and ongoing trainings may be required as well. Being able to work in a team, maintain a positive attitude, and communicate effectively is key.

Description of Duties:

The candidate selected for this Career Service position will work with a dynamic team of biologists to protect and conserve gopher tortoises throughout Florida. The selected candidate will work across FWC divisions, partners, and stakeholders to implement the Gopher Tortoise Management Plan and Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines.
This position works in the FWC's Wildlife Diversity Conservation Section (WDC), serving as the South Region's Gopher Tortoise Conservation Biologist. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing gopher tortoise permit applications, including drafting permits and related notices to agency standards. This position occasionally works in the field conducting site visits to areas under consideration for permitting to verify gopher tortoise surveys/population estimates, evaluate habitat suitability for tortoises and other listed species, and document occurrences of other listed species. Site visits are also conducted on permitted areas to ensure compliance with state rules and Species Guidelines. Responsibilities also include reviewing draft conservation easement documents and habitat management plans to implement permit requirements and conservation goals.
This position has the opportunity to participate in team meetings, seminars, and workshops relating to wildlife resource management, as well as other professional development opportunities within and outside FWC. The selected candidate may have the opportunity to participate in outreach activities providing technical and educational information to conservation organizations, professional audiences, schools, and civic groups.

Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Fisheries Dependent Monitoring (FDM) works directly with anglers to collect fisheries data across the state. FDM is seeking a candidate to conduct directed research and monitoring of recreational fisheries in East Central Florida by assisting with new and ongoing marine recreational fishing surveys. Duties will include but are not limited to:
Conducting dockside interviews with recreational anglers to gather data on catch rates, effort, gear, and area fished;
Sampling fish dockside to collect accurate length and weight measurements and biological samples for age, growth, and reproduction;
Maintaining accurate fishing site information, including pressure, modes, and location;
Processing field and laboratory samples following standardized protocols;
Gathering detailed information on fish caught and released by recreational anglers;
Calling captains for the For-Hire Telephone Survey, collecting trip information;
Conducting data entry using tablets, personal computers, and database software;
Troubleshooting equipment and reviewing data for quality assurance;
Participating in public outreach efforts as appropriate; and
Performing other duties related to program and facility functions as requested by section supervisor.
This position requires the ability to work a flexible work schedule of 30-40 hours per week (variable by week) and will require working weekends (Friday- Sunday) and holidays. The position requires direct contact with the public and representatives of the fishing industry daily, and the qualified applicant will be expected to represent the Agency in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
