Duties & Responsibilities * Develop, plan, design, and conduct novel research on noise trauma-induced cell death. * Responsible for the operation of this specialized research area/lab. * Use extensive knowledge to formulate research methods and develop research criteria for all projects in accordance with the standards of peer reviewed journals and industry affiliates, as well as develop and collaborate on new research techniques and equipment. * Develop and establish functional timelines to complete assigned work to meet the requirements of the research obligations. * Lab equipment management. * Contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program by coordinating with senior leadership and the executive team to meet the reporting requirements of granting agencies as required by the research program. * Participate in the strategy, structure, and development of grant proposals inclusive of grant writing, protocol development, and scope of work definition. * Participate in the acquisition of new research funding by effectively using domain expertise in tandem with a clear understanding core research capabilities for evaluating grant and industry sponsored project opportunities. * Author, co-author, present and co-present research results with principal investigators at meetings or conferences. * Additional duties assigned by the PI. Rogers Way , Tucson, AZ 85721 USA Position Highlights The Materials Science and Engineering department (MSE) is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates with expertise and/or interest in high temperature structural materials, additive manufacturing, non-destructive testing, multi-scale modeling and materials characterization. The ideal candidates will be able to contribute to the testing of metallic materials, micro structural characterization and/or develop ICME models and digital twins. This position is full-time and on-site at the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. Duties & Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities: * Contribute to a research project in close collaboration with faculty supervisors, PhD students and undergraduates on additive manufacturing of high temperature structural alloys. * Innovate new areas of inquiry and advance materials testing, modeling and/or characterization techniques and data analysis. * Present research findings in meetings and publish in scientific journals; maintain detailed records and datasets. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Knowledge and experience with mechanical testing, mechanics/ICME modeling, and microstructural characterization (SEM, EBSD, TEM, etc.). * Experience in preparing, writing, editing and revising research articles. Minimum Qualifications * PhD in Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
