Creates and maintains accurate and timely records of procedures and test results. Develops and applies standard quality control procedures to assure the quality of test results. Interacts with clinical supervisory personnel, physicians, faculty and other laboratory technologists. Maintains a safe environment by following CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission, CLIA, California and CAP guidelines. Communicates test information concerning methods and procedures, sample and storage requirements, TATs, days tests are performed, and QC trends. Utilizes Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) to perform tasks such as test ordering, specimen accessioning, reporting, correcting, changing, crediting, and looking up previous results. Maintains client relationships and asks as knowledge resource for external labs and submitters. Attends conferences as applicable to demonstrate value of testing.
