Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. This role involves preparing patients and equipment, monitoring hemodynamic data, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process. The technologist operates specialized imaging equipment, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care. This position requires technical expertise in cardiovascular procedures, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations.
Essential Work Functions:
Prepare and position patients for cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placement, electrophysiology studies, and other interventional procedures
Assist physicians during procedures by passing catheters, wires, balloons, and stents, and operating fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
Operate and maintain imaging equipment, contrast injectors, and hemodynamic monitoring systems, ensuring proper functionality
Scrub in and assist with sterile field setup, ensuring adherence to infection control and procedural protocols
Perform sheath removal and hemostasis using manual compression or closure devices as directed
Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, imaging data, and equipment logs
Assist with inventory management, stocking supplies, and ensuring proper storage of sterile instruments and medications
Adhere to radiation safety protocols, ensuring proper use of lead aprons, shields, and dosimeters
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety guidelines, and regulatory requirements
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Cath Lab Tech II (San Angelo)

Under the direction of a Cardiologist, independently performs radiographic procedures at a technical level in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Assists the Cardiologist in performing diagnostic as well as interventional procedures for the heart. The two Cath Lab Tech positions are: (1) Monitor, and (2) Scrub.
Monitor
The monitor is in the control room during the procedure monitoring the vital signs before during and after the procedure, documenting everything that is done during the procedure (i.e. when equipment goes into the patient and when it comes out of the patient. Also documenting what is implanted into the patient and making sure appropriate paper work is done that will go with the patient. Case monitors will also assist in transport when available and well as prepping the patient and cleaning the room post case.
Scrub
The scrub is in the room scrubbed into the case with the doctor in a sterile fashion. The scrub runs the x-ray equipment during the procedure with includes panning the table during image acquisition, moving the C-arm to various angles, switching in and out of different X-ray modes required for various studies. The scrub is also in charge or running the Acist power injector and has to maintain the knowledge of how to use various other equipment during procedure safely and effectively.

We are seeking a Research Technician II, under general supervision, will provide technical support for breeding and research work to the professional staff. The technician will evaluate, select, and apply standard and advanced scientific techniques used in the field, greenhouse, and laboratory functions. * Conducts seed and land preparation and planting of research trials and breeding nurseries in the field and greenhouse, manages the crop growth throughout the season (e.g., irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide application), and harvests for yield or plant samples.
* Collects samples and measures data from research trials and breeding nurseries. Collects and summarizes crop management information of research trials and breeding nurseries.
* Conducts and records yield and quality (using grain analyzers) measurements. Compiles the data using Excel and Word.
* Assists in making crosses for the development of new breeding populations.

Position Information
We are seeking a Research Technician II, under general supervision, will provide technical support for breeding and research work to the professional staff. The technician will evaluate, select, and standard and advanced scientific techniques used in the field, greenhouse, and laboratory functions. Work performed by the technician will be evaluated based on the successful completion of tasks assigned.
Responsibilities:
Conducts seed and land preparation and planting of research trials and breeding nurseries in the field and greenhouse, manages the crop growth throughout the season (e.g., irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide application), and harvests for yield or plant samples.
Collects samples and measures data from research trials and breeding nurseries. Collects and summarizes crop management information of research trials and breeding nurseries.
Conducts and records yield and quality (using grain analyzers) measurements. Compiles the data using Excel and Word.
Assists in making crosses for the development of new breeding populations.
Operates and maintains the functionality of field (e.g., tractors, planters, combine harvester, threshers, and backhoe) and lab technical equipment (e.g., rice dehullers, mills, and whiteness and moisture meters).
Plants, harvest and takes data in off station yield trials.
Trains and assigns tasks as necessary to student workers and co-workers under his supervision
Travels to Puerto Rico for harvesting plant materials.
Assists staff members in conducting major field experiments and consults in developing procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of related experience.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform responsibilities listed above, such as growing, managing, and harvesting rice and samples in field and greenhouse nurseries or experiments; data measurement and compilation; and operating and maintaining field and lab equipment.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Performs quantitative and qualitative analyses to determine chemical and physical properties of experimental and developmental materials and may also conduct QA/QC sample analysis and calibrations.
Ensure proper written and electronic documentation of all test results including QA/QC and audits sample documents prior to approval and completeness of summarizing data. Notifies appropriate supervision or staff member of completed analysis.
Prepare reagent/chemical solutions, standards and other laboratory solutions as directed by supervisor or lead technician per guidance and training.
Assists in maintaining an inventory of chemical stores. Collects and logs all Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) documents for chemical stores.
Maintains and distributes as necessary, current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for applicable methods. Informs Laboratory Supervisory immediately of any personnel, equipment, instrument and material problems and SOP or methodology deviations. Responds to and documents any necessary corrective action.
Perform periodic audits of analytical logs and data to ensure regulatory compliance for completeness and accuracy.
Sets up equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control. Cleans and makes minor repairs on laboratory apparatus and equipment and ensures a high standard of housekeeping, quality control and safety.
May also label lab waste containers and properly dispose of lab waste per established guidelines.
May assist in other areas or with special projects directed.
Work Environment:
Spends 100% of the time in a lab or operations environment. Typically spends 10 - 20% of time exposed to outdoor and sometimes inclement weather. Company service vehicles are used as required.
