The Research Technologist with a high degree of technical skills and experience in laboratory science, tissue culture, and mouse handling will assist with the regular functioning of a research laboratory for Dr. Al-Sadi in the GI division of the UNMC department of Internal Medicine. The technologist will be responsible for the maintenance of mouse colony, participate in planning experimental designs, carrying out the experimental procedures, performing animal experiments using mouse models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and data analysis, Work under general supervision to: perform in vitro cell culture experiments, including experiments using Caco-2 monolayers; perform analysis of human, animal tissues, and samples from in vitro experiments using routine cellular, molecular biology, and protein chemistry procedures. These routine lab procedures include microscopy, histology, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blot, quantitative PCR, molecular cloning, and si RNA. Also, the technician will be responsible for assisting other individuals in the lab and will perform duties as assigned by the lab.
