Perform ICSI and conventional fertilization techniques.
Schedule procedures, manage tasks, and navigate patient charts accurately.
Understand cryopreservation principles and manage specimen storage.
Assist with laboratory cleaning, organization, and inventory restocking.
Perform PGT sample loading, interpret PGT reports, and communicate results to patients.
Communicate with patients through digital platforms and phone calls.
Perform PESA/TESE sperm retrieval procedures.

NIST recognizes that its research staff may wish to collaborate with researchers at academic institutions on specific projects of mutual interest, thus requires that such institutions must be the recipient of a PREP award. The PREP program requires staff from a wide range of backgrounds to work on scientific research in many areas. Employees in this position will perform technical work that underpins the scientific research of the collaboration.
Primary responsibilities will be leading microwave and RF measurements. Such work will be carried out in close collaboration with partners at NIST as well as industry partners, government laboratories and colleagues at other universities. The position will require publishing findings in peer reviewed journals, presenting the work at project meetings and scientific conferences, mentoring postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to reports for external sponsors. The candidate must be comfortable with the measurement and interpretation of electromagnetic measurements and be proficient in at least one type of programming language for scientific computing (e.g., MATLAB, python, C++).

Role Summary

Works together with Laboratory Director to coordinate work for an effective use of resources.
Works collaboratively with the IVF Laboratory Director and the IVF team to proactively identify evolving “best practices” as well as area of improvement in the Laboratory process and department operations.
Complies with regulations and laws for human ART in U.S. and California, adheres to the policy and rules of SPRING Fertility, and assures that works is performed in accordance with ASRM standards.

* Operate the autoclave to sterilize glassware, waste, and media safely and efficiently.
* Dispose of test tubes and refill distilled water jugs to support day-to-day lab operations.
* Track inventory and supplies, ensuring everything is labeled, weighed, and organized by plant.
* Perform basic housekeeping duties to keep the lab in good working order.
* Coordinate with team members to maintain clear documentation and accurate records of sample prep and lab activities.
* Follow written procedures carefully and with accuracy to maintain integrity in the lab.
* Support a collaborative team focused on food safety and quality-your role helps feed families across the globe!
* Offer ideas for improving lab workflows, safety, or sample management-we want to hear them!
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
* A high school diploma or GED.
* Some exposure to microbiology or chemistry through school or work-enough to understand basic concepts and handle pipettes, balances, and related tools.
* Comfort following detailed instructions and keeping work areas orderly and accurate.
* A team-focused approach with clear communication and a willingness to learn.
* Work Schedule is Wednesday-Saturday 7:30 AM-6 PM, 10 hour shifts
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
* An associate or bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or a related field.
* Hands-on experience working in a laboratory setting, especially in food or dairy.
* Familiarity with sterile technique, aseptic sample prep, or operating an autoclave.
* A track record of keeping things organized while juggling multiple tasks in a lab.
