Westat is seeking a Principal Research Associate to join our Education Studies Practice, supporting our Comprehensive Center teams. This role is designed for a nationally recognized expert in mathematics instruction and instructional leadership who will lead strategic technical assistance (TA) initiatives, shape national discourse, and build the instructional capacity of state and local educators to improve student outcomes in mathematics. The role also leads and substantively supports research/evaluation projects, as well as business development.

This role is based out of Bethesda, Maryland and will be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement requiring 1-2 days onsite each week.

**Job Responsibilities:**
+ Lead strategic, multi-level technical assistance initiatives, applying implementation science in mathematics instruction, setting vision, and aligning efforts with federal and state policy goals.
+ Design and implement evidence-based instructional capacity-building efforts, including professional learning, coaching, and curriculum support.
+ Oversee needs assessments, advise on system-level diagnostics, and evaluate fidelity and impact of TA delivery across sites and states.
+ Ensure quality control of all project deliverables, monitor subcontractor performance, and implement data governance frameworks.
+ Serve as a thought leader by shaping national discourse, mentoring staff, and contributing to publications and presentations.
+ Cultivate high-trust relationships with SEA/LEA leaders, negotiate multi-year TA agreements, and represent projects in strategic communications.
+ Lead and mentor project teams, foster collaboration, and develop staff capacity in technical assistance and instructional leadership.
+ Support project management and contribute to business development efforts.
+ Oversees and supports staff by providing supervision, performance monitoring, and developmental guidance through mentoring and training, fostering a culture of continuous growth and professional excellence.
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ PhD with 5+ years postdoctoral experience, or MA/MS with 8+ years, or BA/BS with 15+ years of relevant experience.
+ Deep expertise in mathematics instruction and instructional leadership.
+ Proven success in designing and delivering professional learning and coaching for educators.
+ Experience building the capacity of SEA/LEA leaders to improve instructional practices.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead strategic TA initiatives and align them with policy priorities.

The Zhuang Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support an NIH MIRA project investigating gene-environment interactions in complex traits using multi-omics approaches in Drosophila. The Research Assistant will carry out day-to-day experimental work, maintain research operations, and contribute to team science in a collaborative environment.
Primary responsibilities:
* Plan, execute, and document Drosophila experiments, including stock maintenance, genetic crosses, and phenotyping.
* Prepare samples for molecular assays and multi-omics workflows, and coordinate submissions to core facilities.

A leading global pharmaceutical manufacturer specializing in diabetes-related products is seeking a Microbiology Lab Technician for their Quality Control Laboratory. This role involves assisting with daily operations of samples originating from three manufacturing plants and contract manufacturing partners. The technician will follow standard operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, conducting bioburden and other microbial tests as needed. Cross-training will be provided to support media preparation for testing, manufacturing, and other parts of the plant.
Responsibilities
* Conduct bioburden and other microbial testing in accordance with standard operating procedures and GMP guidelines.
* Assist with the day-to-day operations of samples from multiple manufacturing plants and partners.
* Support media preparation for testing and manufacturing processes.
* Follow lab safety protocols and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
* Read and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Essential Skills
* Proficiency in microbiology and aseptic techniques.
* Experience in laboratory settings, either from academia or industry.
* Familiarity with lab safety practices.
* Ability to read and understand SOPs.
* Experience with microbiology testing such as endotoxin or bioburden in a pharmaceutical lab.
* Previous experience with GMP and quality control.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
* Previous industry experience in a Quality Control lab is a plus.
Work Environment
The position requires working first shift hours, Monday to Friday, on-site, with one weekend per month. Flexibility for potential weekend or second shift work may be needed, and candidates should express their comfort level with these shifts.

Position description:
The Post-Doctoral Fellow will work as a member of I³R's team focused on advancing integrative health by providing healthy food and health technologies in a manner that is secure, resilient, and accessible to all. Competitive applicants will be those who are interested in contributing to this mission and who have expertise and/or seek post-doctoral training in one or more of the following areas: food systems and food technology (including technology for resilient agricultural systems, agricultural economics, cellular agriculture, genomics, and nutrition), health technology (including bioelectronics, wearable devices, medical robotics, internet of medical things, medical imaging, neuroscience, and virtual and augmented reality), cross-cutting technologies to support food and health (including artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, regulatory science), and law, policy, community development and engagement to support integrative health. Of special interest are research and development efforts that focus on the translation of basic research to design and development of products, technologies, and subsequent deployment. The post-doctoral fellow will participate in data collection activities develop tools for efficient and reliable data collection and prepare reports and publications of research results.
