The job can continue into the fall, dependent on company needs and student availability.
This is primarily an outdoor position. Applicant should be comfortable working outside in summer temperatures. The employer will provide water, Gatorade, and shade.

A Taste of What You'll Do
The Research / Process Technology Internship is a unique program in partnership with universities. The program offers 2-to-6-month placement opportunities based out of E. & J. Gallo's subsidiary, California Natural Colors located in Fresno, California. This internship provides the opportunity for Master's and PhD students to apply their advanced knowledge in natural product chemistry within Cal Color's Research and Development department. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an industrial research environment and increase your skills for future employment.
Specific training and project work undertaken by interns may include the following, depending on available placement(s):
Produce and evaluate the chemical characteristics of grape seed extracts and natural colors.
Produce and test the physical properties of emulsions.
Implement rapid chemical methods to measure and monitor bench, pilot, and production scale processes.
Conduct organic synthesis of target molecules.
Use HPLC to analyze various natural products.
Use other separation techniques (e.g., adsorption elution, membrane filtration, etc.)
Use computer software to statistically analyze data.
Assist in the set-up of laboratory, pilot scale, or production experiments
What You'll Need
Currently enrolled at a university and working towards a Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Food Science, Physics or Engineering; OR obtained a Master's OR PhD in Chemistry, Food Science, Physics, Material Science or Engineering.
Candidate is required to have a valid driver's license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver's license based on the position's location within 30 days of hire.
Reliable transportation to and from work.
Required to lift and move up to 40 lbs. when necessary.
Required to work overtime, including evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.

How You'll Stand Out
Hands-on experience with quantitative analytical chemistry using chromatographic techniques, especially HPLC, method development and validation. LCMS a plus.
Hands-on experience with various extraction, separation, and purification techniques such as preparative HPLC, CC, ultrafiltration, crystallization, etc.
Hands-on experience using particle size analyzers. Working knowledge of emulsion science.
Hands-on experience with natural products especially polyphenols (e.g., flavonoids, proanthocyanidins and natural colors (e.g., anthocyanins, carotenoids, curcuminoids)
Working knowledge of the chemistry and physics of color and light.
Hands-on experience with organic synthesis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and experience managing multiple assignments. Self-motivated with a passion for research.
Willingness to work at heights of up to 50 feet, on tops of tanks inspecting wine surfaces when necessary.

This position is responsible for supervising the activities of the Clinical Laboratory Scientists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, and laboratory assistants in the Microbiology department. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical oversight, data review, managing personnel, and department development within all established federal, state, and local, regulatory guidelines.
1. Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science from an accredited institution is required.
2. Candidate must meet qualifications to function as a Technical Supervisor as stated under Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) regulations for the Microbiology department.
3. Four years of experience in Microbiology as a Clinical Microbiologist or four years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a minimum of six months experience in the subspecialties of bacteriology and parasitology in a high complexity testing laboratory is required.
4. Licensure as a Clinical Microbiologist Scientist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist by the State of California is required.
5. Board Certification from a governing body acceptable for the State of California (i.e. ASCP) is preferred.
6. Supervisory experience or similar leadership experience with an emphasis on developing processes, Lean/process improvement, and working in a collaborative role with lab leadership is required.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills to ensure patient and staff cooperation, and customer service are required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $30.16 - $34.40. How You'll Make an Impact
Dudek is currently seeking a part-time as needed (variable hours per week) laboratory technician to join our biological resources team in at the lab near Tracy, CA. The successful candidate will help Dudek staff collect and analyze laboratory and environmental data related to aquatic invasive species management and prepare associated analyses and reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collects and interprets analytical and environmental chemistry, biology, toxicology, hydrology, meteorology, and other related data and observes and clearly notates field conditions, meeting notes, etc. related to aquatic invasive species management;
Requires existing familiarity with standard and specialized aquatic toxicology laboratory equipment including but not limited to water quality testing equipment (Ph, EC, turbidity, etc.), hot water baths, compound microscope, laboratory glassware, flow-through aquaculture systems, and submersible pumps;
Reviews safety data sheets for all chemicals used in laboratory and strictly adheres to guidelines related to safe handling and required personal protective equipment (PPE);
Adheres to California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) collecting and biosecurity standards in accordance with an existing Scientific Collecting Permit (SCP);
Analyzes and prepares written reports, tables, maps, and drawings using standard and specialty statistical analysis, GIS, and CEQA guidelines;
Collects water and biological samples for subcontracted laboratory analysis;
Interacts with laboratories to obtain desired and quality-assured results;
Uses field equipment and thoroughly documents field conditions and project status, including phone calls and emails to project manager, subcontractors and other colleagues;
Reviews, summarizes and critiques scientific literature;
Contacts peers, colleagues, and others to gain clarification and gather information as needed;
Contacts outside entities as directed by project manager to gain or present information on project status;
Adheres to assigned levels of effort for tasks given;

Working Conditions:
Environment
The majority of the work is performed in a compact laboratory setting with somewhat limited maneuverable space. The laboratory is situated adjacent to a man-made water conveyance channel within an active fish collection facility with heavy machinery and moving vehicles;
This job operates in a field laboratory (ie, non-office) environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, hand-held devices;
This job will require some work outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.

DUTIES:

The USC Iovine and Young Academy is seeking a Digital Fabrication Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. We foster innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning in a cutting-edge academic environment. This role provides technical expertise in the implementation and operation of equipment within the student makerspaces. This is a benefits-eligible position with a regular work schedule of 12:30 PM to 8:30 PM, Tuesday through Friday, and 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday. Please note that, depending on business needs, the schedule may shift to a Wednesday through Sunday work week at various times during the academic year.
The Lab Technician will report to the Senior Facilities and Operations Manager and play a key role in supporting advanced classroom and makerspace environments. These spaces include technologies such as electronics, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, and other fabrication tools. The successful candidate will assist faculty, students, and staff with the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities. They will also mentor students working on class projects, providing guidance and technical support to foster hands-on learning and innovation.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Principal duties will include:
Deliver specialized technical support within studio, laboratory, and facility environments to assist students, faculty, and staff in the operation and application of advanced instructional technologies and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, 3D printers, laser cutters, and CNC machines.
Conduct training sessions to ensure proper equipment usage, enforce safety protocols, maintain a structured and orderly environment, and provide guidance on project execution.
Oversee inventory management and coordinate routine maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal functionality and availability.
Design and facilitate workshops, contribute to the development of educational programs, and engage with internal and external communities to promote innovation and technical skill-building.
Ensure strict adherence to institutional policies and procedures, as well as compliance with health and safety regulations.
Provide supervision and direction to student workers and laboratory assistants, fostering a productive and safe working environment.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Experience: 3-5 years in an additive/subtractive fabrication role or setting including the use of specialized classroom and maker space technologies and equipment (e.g. 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC machines, etc.).
Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and time-management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within diverse teams comprising students, staff, and faculty.
Familiarity with the operational structure and workflows of higher education institutions.

Research technician job in Fresno, CA
Reporting to the Lead Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist, Cath Lab, this position is responsible for performing a wide variety of specialized invasive cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures that assist in the diagnosis, management and treatment of cardiovascular disease. The incumbent is also responsible for performing routine and specialized radiographic procedures and providing patient care and physician assistance during the performance of those procedures.
Requirements
1. High school diploma or equivalent is required.
2. Graduate of a two (2) year accredited program in Radiology Technology is required.
3. One (1) year experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred.
4. Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification issued by the California Department of Public Health-Radiologic Health Branch (CDPH-RHB) is required with Fluoroscopy permit is required.
5. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card is required.
6. Successful completion of basic arrhythmia recognition course within six (6) months of date of hire into position is required.
7. American Registry Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in Radiography is preferred.
8. Working knowledge of basic physics, anatomy/physiology, biology, math, Basic Arrhythmia and Advanced Cardiac Arrhythmia is required.
