The Landscape Evolution and Luminescence Geochronology Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln studies how landscapes evolve and change due to environmental and anthropogenic drivers. Much of the lab's work involves dating sediments or artifacts with luminescence dating methods.
As a Geology Research Technician, you will:
* Process sediment samples and analyze sediment and soil samples in the laboratory. Analyses will include dating sediments with optically-stimulated luminescence (OSL) dating and particle size analysis of samples using a laser diffraction particle size analyzer.
* Subsample sediment and soil cores for analysis.
* Assist with generating materials for publications, including geologic maps and other manuscripts.
This position is part-time, 20 hours per week. Within the UNL system, this position is classified as a Research Technician III.

The Eastern Nebraska Research, Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) is as an integral hub of research and innovation. ENREEC is positioned at the forefront of cutting-edge agricultural research, education, and extension activities that address the challenges of modern farming. The site consists of approximately 9,600 acres with about half being row crops, both irrigated and non-irrigated, and half pasture. Over 6,000 livestock animals used for research and teaching reside onsite as well. ENREEC is located near Ceresco, Wahoo, Mead, and Ithaca, NE, and within 30 minutes of both the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas.
As the Precision Ag Research Technologist, you will:
* Design, coordinate, and implement field and laboratory research activities of soil fertility, precision agriculture, nutrient management, and water quality programs, mostly located at UNL Eastern NE Research, Extension & Education Center.
* Be responsible for the accurate implementation of research treatments, collection and summary of data and preliminary statistical analyses.
* Oversee geospatial field layout and designs, geolocate treatment strips within the field trials, and assist with the collection of crop, soil, and water samples for chemical and physical properties.

The Pediatric Binaural Integration Laboratory studies how children integrate sound from both ears to develop skills that are foundational for listening, language, and learning. Our primary focus is on understanding how children who are deaf/hard-of-hearing in one ear learn to navigate complex listening environments and optimize auditory input to support their academic, communication, and social-emotional development. Our lab uses multiple techniques to consider the behavioral outcomes of children in the context of sensory and neural function, in real time. Research techniques include:
- Behavioral measures like those in audiology and speech-language pathology clinics to assess hearing, speech, language, and cognition
- State-of-the-art brain imaging, including magnetoencephalography (MEG) and structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
- Cutting-edge electroencephalography (EEG)
