The Fine Lab
The Fine lab is a Neuro-oncology research group that makes use of complex 3D human brain tumor models (GLICOs: ********************************************* ********************************************* to perform translational research into glioblastoma. We are a diverse, multinational and interdisciplinary team (MD/PhDs, cell/ molecular biologists, veterinarians & bioinformaticians) with a vibrant research and training environment in the Tri-Institutional Campus of New York City. We have secure funding and exceptional access to patient tissue/cell lines, as well as cutting edge scientific resources and training.
The Role
The successful candidate will be trained to work with embryonic stem cell-derived cerebral organoids interfaced with tumor stem cell biology, to facilitate High Throughput drug screenings. They will be a key personnel of the incipient Starr Foundation Cerebral Organoid Translational Core and will report to its supervisor.
In achieving this goal, the candidate will have the opportunity to perform, and receive training in, a wide range of laboratory techniques including: reprogramming of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cell culture, the generation and culture of cerebral organoids and tumor organoids and the use and development of cell based assays to test novel therapeutic drug candidates, and cutting edge gene editing and molecular biology techniques. They will be an integral member of the lab with the ability to work independently, contribute to experimental design, interpret and present your results to the wider team, and receive recognition through authorship on published work.
Job responsibilities
Collect and process biological patient specimens to establish glioma stem cell lines.
Perform routine human iPSC/ESC culture.
Generation and maintenance of hESC-derived cerebral organoids.
Perform 2D and 3D high-throughput drug screening using luminescence-based assays.
Prepares and maintains detailed records, logs and summary reports of all procedures and results including graphs, scientific calculations, and statistical analysis charting.
May run routine biochemistry assays including western blotting and RT-PCR.
May perform routine molecular biology laboratory procedures, such as PCR, DNA electrophoresis, cloning and DNA preparation.
May perform microscopic imaging analyses.
Minimum requirements:
• Commitment to delivering meaningful advancements that directly enhance patient care and well-being.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. cell/ molecular biology, neuroscience, biochemistry) or equivalent practical experience.
• One year ‘wet lab' work experience, including mammalian cell culture.
• Strong teamwork skills with a proven ability to effectively interact and collaborate with other
scientific disciplines.
• Must currently be authorized to work in the United States to ensure immediate onboarding and integration into the team.
Preferred qualifications
• Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. cell/ molecular biology, neuroscience, biochemistry).
• Experience culturing human stem cells (hESCs/ iPSCs) and 3D models.
• Significant hands-on cell based assays for high throughput drug screening.
• Experience generating stable, genetically engineered cell lines; working with lentivirus.
• Experience in biochemistry assays including western blotting and RT-PCR.
The position will be subject to annual approvals based on performance, with a starting salary commensurate with qualification and experience. It will require flexibility to work a few hours twice per month over the weekend given the nature of cerebral organoid generation procedures. POSITION SUMMARY
KKR Solutions is looking for an exceptionally talented individual at the Associate level to join its Research, Analytics and Portfolio Construction team. The successful candidate will take a proactive, innovative approach to implementing asset allocation and portfolio construction solutions for the firm's investor base. This individual will also play a visible role in reinforcing KKR's thought leadership around asset allocation and portfolio construction with clients. They will be tasked with contributing to and developing proprietary models. Since much of the work will focus on alternative asset classes for which there are few common industry-level standards, the ideal candidate will have outside-the-box creativity as well as excellent technical skills and attention to detail, given the large allocation/investment decisions driven by the Solutions team's analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will have experience with the institutional investment market, with a particular focus on, and passion for, portfolio construction and asset allocation. They will have a deep understanding of investing fundamentals, financial theory, risk management, asset allocation, and the quantitative side of portfolio construction -- all with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. They will be responsible for developing, designing and conducting original research, building models, and performing strategic client analyses. Key findings will be presented in client meetings, conferences, research reports and thought leadership initiatives.
In addition to the above, major responsibilities will include:
* Developing original research addressing strategic and tactical portfolio management needs of KKR's broad range of clients
* Developing innovative approaches to portfolio construction, asset allocation and asset/liability modeling, identifying the distribution characteristics of a broad range of asset classes
* Developing tailored investment proposals for various client types, leading end‑to‑end implementation, and delivering ongoing portfolio management and client service
* Forming views on various key topics of multi-asset portfolio management such as relative value between asset classes, comparison between liquid and illiquid asset classes, trade-offs for taking on illiquidity etc
* Partnering with affiliated quant / research resources to share best practices and to capture their best ideas as an input into developing the team's research & modeling capabilities

QUALIFICATIONS
The professional experience/qualifications required for this role include:
* 3-6 years of experience at an asset management firm, with direct involvement in risk management, quantitative analysis, asset allocation, and/or portfolio construction
* Knowledge of investing fundamentals across a wide range of asset classes, ideally including private markets, and instrument types
* Advanced Python programming for quantitative analysis and financing modeling and proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel and PowerPoint)
* An understanding of the challenges faced by sophisticated institutional clients and a proven record of addressing institutional portfolio management challenges and developing original research

What You Will Do: The Senior Embryologist will be responsible for performing all procedures in the IVF Laboratory under the direction of the IVF Laboratory Supervisor. The Senior Embryologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills related to the various procedures performed in the IVF Laboratory. The Senior Embryologist reports directly to the IVF Lab Supervisor.

Perform all aspects of media/medium preparation with sterile technique for each case and documents the lots used.

Assist physician during egg retrievals and is able to locate and assess all oocytes retrieved in a timely manner. Able to trim oocytes without trauma or injury to the oocytes.
Adhere to the IVF lab's double signature and check system when performing procedures to ensure correct identity of eggs, sperm, and embryos.
Document all patients' results into the IVF Lab information system (LIS).
Perform daily fertilization checks which includes “cleaning” embryos with minimal trauma (insemination cases) to observe fertilization.
Assess fertilization by observation of pronuclei and polar bodies.
Perform freezing and thawing of human embryos according to IVF lab protocol with a high survival rate.
Perform oocyte inseminations according to IVF lab protocol.
Able to hyal and strip oocytes for ICSI with minimal trauma.
Perform Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) according to IVF lab procedures resulting in high fertilization rates.
Assist physician with embryo transfer and ensures proper identification of the patient with a “time-out” before the transfer.
Assist physician during PESA, MESA and TESE procedures by locating and processing sperm found according to IVF lab procedures.
Perform biopsy procedures, including trophectoderm biopsy, resulting in high number of embryos returning a test result. Embryos biopsied result in a high survival rate when thawed and an acceptable implantation rate when transferred.

What You Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Microbiology required.
Medical technology licensure/certificate required if Embryologist completed a medical technology university-based program.
