The University of Pittsburgh's Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Research Technician in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology. The Research Technician will join a team doing clinical and translational research in asthma and other pediatric lung diseases. The incumbent will be primarily tasked with processing research samples including blood and small tissue samples, extracting DNA and RNA following standard protocols, organizing and biobanking samples, performing analytical tests such as PCR and gel electrophoresis, updating files and reports, ordering laboratory supplies to maintain inventory, and other routine procedures in compliance with laboratory policies and regulations. The successful candidate will have previous wet laboratory experience. Candidates with previous experience isolating/handling RNA and DNA are particularly encouraged to apply.
