San Diego State University is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Research Technician I to support in-vivo experimentation, wet lab procedures, and daily laboratory operations within a dynamic biomedical research environment. Working under close supervision, you'll contribute to translational projects aimed at understanding molecular mechanisms of disease and advancing precision medicine. Key Responsibilities
Assist with in-vivo research tasks, such as helping with routine dosing (SC/IP), monitoring animals, collecting samples, and supporting mouse colony maintenance (breeding setup and genotyping) under close supervision.
Support wet lab procedures by preparing materials, following established protocols for cell culture and molecular assays (PCR/qPCR, Western Blotting, ELISA, IHC), and helping maintain clean and organized workspaces.
Help gather and organize research data, including recording observations, assisting with preliminary data analysis, and preparing simple summaries or reports as directed.
Contribute to routine laboratory operations, such as ordering supplies, assisting with protocol and compliance document preparation, maintaining EH&S standards, and collaborating with lab staff to keep daily workflows running smoothly.

Position Information
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with an anticipated end date one year after hire, with the possibility of reappointment.
This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

We are a new lab in the Department of Chemistry starting immediately and are seeking highly motivated full-time Research Technicians. A strong background in molecular biology, chemistry, or chemical/biomolecular engineering is required.
We are broadly interested in using synthetic biology and metabolic engineering to transform microorganisms into programmable platforms capable of producing entire families of complex, high-value molecules that are inaccessible through traditional discovery or synthesis. A major focus is on reconstructing, redesigning, and evolving multi-enzyme systems in engineered hosts such as yeast and E. coli to uncover biosynthetic logic and generate fundamentally new peptide scaffolds. This work integrates pathway refactoring, enzyme engineering, strain optimization, and high-throughput analytical chemistry.

We are seeking a highly motivated contract Research Associate with strong interpersonal communication skills to conduct in vivo studies in mice in our In-Iivo Pharmacology group at La Jolla to support oncology research.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support in vivo experiments
• Flexible working hours including late shift, weekends and holidays
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and team player.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Proficient in handling mice.
• Proficient in administering compounds via various routes (PO, IV, IP, SC).
• Blood collection (via cheek bleed, RO, intra-cardiac).
• Necropsy, collection of various tissue samples for biomarker analysis.
• Experience with tumor cell subcutaneous implantation in mice and live animal surgery is a plus.
• Proficient in data collection/documentation, either in electronic or hardcopy forms.
Qualifications
What is the minimum education experience required?:
ALAT/ALATg, or BS degree in a life science with minimum 1-2 years of hands on laboratory experience in small animal experimentation.

• This position requires flexible working hours: A regular 5 day work week will include and require: late shift and include Sat/Sun and holidays. BID dosing schedules are central to this position.
• Lift animal cages.
• Handle hazardous materials and work in animal facility which will require additional medical testing and/or apparatus fitting for OSHA compliance.

POSITION TITLE: Research Technician

Responsibilities
• Assist with in vivo pharmacology experiments for preclinical contract research
• Perform in vivo studies to evaluate anti-cancer efficacy of test agents in tumor mouse models with supervision
• Monitor mouse groups enrolled in drug efficacy, mechanism of action, PKPD and proof-of-concept studies
