A Brief Overview
Works under general direction to perform professional level medical or scientific research assignments. Performs diverse and complex duties, with a focus on entering patient data into a variety of computer based systems, scheduling of daily activities, tracking specimens, retention and organization of documentation, and data functions for staff.
What you will do
Reviews the patient record to correctly identify and interpret the required data and accurately transcribes into electronic capture systems.
Performs literature review as directed.
Updates research databases with pertinent patient information to document completed research procedures, pharmacy dispensing and research staff workload, among others.
Assists research department with daily tasks needed to maintain a quality research program. These duties may include preparing lab kits, processing, and shipping specimens to local or reference labs; entering patient data into a variety of computer based systems; prepping for tumor boards; requesting anonymized copies of imaging studies and uploading to central reviewer system, creating study checklists using the study calendar of events, scanning research related documents into the electronic medical records, makes copies of appropriate paperwork for patients chart.
Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows department scheduling policies/parameters.
Performs other generalized clerical duties such as: Printing reports/protocols, making copies, maintains incoming and outgoing fax transactions and phone calls, preparing research charts, filing, ordering supplies, sorting and distributing mail, monitor / auditor requests.

Interested candidate is expected to have recently obtained a PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biology or similar discipline and be a first author on at least 1-2 publications in Cancer, cell-ECM mechanotransduction, and/or biomedical engineering applications. The main job duty is to perform research to understand the role of tumor extracellular matrix remodeling in ovarian cancer chemoresistance and to identify novel therapeutic targets by using patient-derived 3D cultures (Funding already secured). The translational research project leverages multi-disciplinary approach in cancer biology, bio-orthogonal metabolic labeling, biomedical engineering/tissue engineering, mechanotransduction signaling, OMICs, and high-throughput in vitro patient-derived models to probe complex biological processes and to pursue new therapeutic opportunities for cancer. Experience in 3D tissue cultures, confocal imaging and/or cancer biology is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required. Assists in completion of grant applications and other regulatory documents. Writes technical summaries and co-authors articles for publication. Prepares and makes formal presentations of research results. Typically works under broad direction of principal investigator. High level of knowledge in scientific research processes, procedures, and objectives. Possesses ability to implement experiments in the subject discipline with the ability to trouble shoot issues. Good knowledge of the principles and techniques of the subject discipline required. Teach principles and techniques of medical and laboratory procedures to junior individuals working in the lab. Possesses ability to run complex pieces of equipment requiring advanced specialized training. Possesses knowledge of modern research methods, data collection and analysis. Significant experience in analyzing and evaluating data. General level of knowledge of project management, decision-making, and analytical skills. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a research group or team. Sanford Research is a multi-site institution and occasional local travel between sites may be required.

Primary Job Role:
As a Research Study Technical Support, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the health and care of our livestock production animals, including swine, cattle, poultry, and more. You will also assist with routine basic study activities and provide support to the research team.
This position requires routine standing, moving, and lifting for extended periods of time.
Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Observe animals regularly, recognizing and reporting changes in eating or drinking habits, general behaviors, and outward signs of disease or abnormal appearance.
Provide basic animal husbandry for study animals, such as feeding and watering animals according to schedules and feeding instructions.
Do facility laundry and clean, organize, maintain, and disinfect animal rooms and facilities
Record and/or maintain animal health data or other data necessary for the operation of the facility or study conduct.
Provide routine assistance in study activities, common and more advanced technical procedures, and record-keeping responsibilities, following prescribed procedures and instructions, such as:

Qualifications, Training, and Experience Requirements:
