The Research Associate II, Bioanalytical, will report to the Director, Translational Biomarkers, and will participate in the development, qualification, validation, and execution of assays investigating biodistribution, viral shedding, and functional assessments in support of pre-clinical and clinical stage programs. This is an on-site lab-based position in Morrisville, NC and prior experience with methods for extraction and quantification of nucleic material (DNA, RNA) and protein is required. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of various molecular techniques to quantify transgene expression. Candidates may also have opportunities to learn different techniques for protein assessment. Experience with GxP regulation and working in a regulated lab space is preferred but not required.
Job Responsibilities
Isolate and quantify nucleic acids and proteins from various model systems and tissue types
Participate in assay design, including assay qualification and validation
Utilize molecular techniques including, but not limited to gene expression analysis, primer probe set design/validation, dd PCR, RT-dd PCR, ELISA, western blots, and MSD for sample analysis
Responsible for co-authoring and reviewing test methods, work plans, SOPs, and qualification/validation reports
Contribute to data review and quality control of data in support of regulatory filings
Perform routine instrument maintenance and performance verification
Maintain organized electronic and/or paper-based documentation that is fit-for-purpose with regards to regulatory requirements.
Receive, accession, and manage samples using LIMS
Perform data analysis and effectively communicate results in formal reports and presentations for technical discussions
Maintain inventories and/or place orders of reagents and materials needed for the assigned projects allowing for timely execution of related lab work
Ensure lab areas are clean and organized, and that equipment, supplies, and raw materials are available for use
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in biology, chemistry or related field OR bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field with 2+ years' relevant work experience OR High School Diploma and 6+ years' relevant work experience
Hands-on experience with the processing of, and isolation of nucleic acids and protein from, material acquired from different species and organ types
Demonstrated understanding of assay qualification and/or validation requirements
Possess knowledge of, and experience with, multiple assays including: dd PCR, RT-dd PCR, ELISA, western blots, and/or MSD-based platforms
Excellent technical lab skills with attention to detail and the ability to assume independent ownership of workflows
Knowledge of GxP regulatory requirements
Ability to multitask among multiple projects and teams, and work in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment
Self-motivated, organized, and capable of troubleshooting independently
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate with colleagues across multiple communication platforms including e-mail, Microsoft Teams, and Sharepoint sites
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
Hands-on experience with assay qualification and validation
Prior work in a regulated lab environment
Familiarity with software such as Softmax Pro, graphpad prism, and smartsheet

Project Description:
Increasing proportions of women are commencing pregnancy with overweight or obesity. Simple lifestyle interventions can prevent weight gain and related complications, yet translation to real world care to broad public health benefit remains limited.
This PhD program aims to adapt, diversify and implement a lifestyle intervention to optimise healthy weight during pregnancy with a health systems approach. The proposed project will involve engaging stakeholder to identify needs, barriers and facilitators to change, adapting an evidence based weight gain prevention program and conducting implementation research to test effectiveness.
Selection criteria:
Monash University seeks applicants for this opportunity who are able to demonstrate and present valid and current Australian work rights.
Candidates must have a degree or masters in a relevant discipline, with strong academic results. What You'll Do
Under the direct supervision, support and guidance of the manager:
* Preparation of buffers for Downstream operations and media for Upstream cell culture operations
* Set-up of laboratory equipment (bioreactors, filtration units)

The internship role is to support basic and routine laboratory activities in MSAT lab at Fujifilm Biotechnologies in Holly Springs. This role provides ad-hoc support to laboratory scientists in the execution of experiments in support of large-scale manufacturing (Drug Substance Manufacturing - DSM) and tech transfers.
Start Date: This internship is set to begin on May 26th 2026 for an 11-week duration ending on August 7th 2026.
Relocation: Please note this Internship Opportunity is designed to be 100% Onsite, 40 hours/week and a relocation/housing stipend is not provided.

Job Description
What You'll Do
Under the direct supervision, support and guidance of the manager:
Preparation of buffers for Downstream operations and media for Upstream cell culture operations
Set-up of laboratory equipment (bioreactors, filtration units)
Picking samples up from DSM (admittance to DSM requires that the intern does not have make-up or permanent visible jewelry)
Sampling of bioreactors
Raw material sourcing including ordering and inventory control
Housekeeping in the lab (operating dishwasher, staging waste for collection, general lab clean up).
Basic Requirements
• Currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree program with a Life Sciences focus OR
• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Scientific Undergraduate or Master's degree Program
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Requirements
• Prior experience in Pharma/Biotech/Chemical Industry
• Prior hands-on technical experience (in a laboratory or manufacturing environment)

The UNC_NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a full-time Research Assistant position. The position will have an academic appointment in the Lampe Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering and will participate in a NIH -funded research program to develop multiple drug delivery formulations including a hydrogel system for cell therapies, and long-acting multipurpose prevention technologies for prevention of HIV and unplanned pregnancy and for a broader application in women's health. Various technologies will be advanced by utilizing formulation development and polymer chemistry, hydrogel systems, stem cell and drug delivery, injectable formulation, 3D printed devices, in vitro model systems, and in vivo studies in relevant models for safety, pharmacokinetics and efficacy. The focus of this position will be on formulation development and optimization combined with in vitro and in vivo characterization and testing. Additionally, the position will require scientific data analysis, reporting and manuscript writing. A strong background in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, formulation development, adherent and suspension mammalian cell culture, and cell-based assays including live/dead cell assay, ATP / MTT assays, immunohistochemical staining and imaging, live cell imaging, ELISA , Western Blot, RT- PCR , protein/ DNA / RNA extraction and purification, fluorescence microscopy, experimental design, CAD and SLA 3D printing. Analytical expertise including HPLC , FT-IR, rheology, DSC , TGA , AFM , NMR , UV-Vis, mechanical testing, imaging techniques including SEM , TEM , ESEM , BLI , and confocal imaging is strongly preferred. Software experience in ImageJ, Origin, GraphPad, MATLAB , SolidWorks, and BioRender. The ideal candidate will have experience in design and development of translational biomaterials that can be applied to address real-world unmet medical needs using interdisciplinary approach in biomedical engineering, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, biology, and pharmaceutical science.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be creative, highly motivated and able to work independently, with demonstrated strong experience in hydrogel formulations, tissue culture, cell-based assays, in vivo studies, and project management and execution. The candidate must have the interest in and ability to collaborate with other researchers and must be willing to proactively write and publish manuscripts and help with grant submissions. The preferred candidate will have a solid foundation in techniques for the use of biomaterial fabrication, cells/medicines, animals, cellular biology assays, and analytical methods in tissue engineering, drug delivery, and cell therapies research, with expertise in biology and biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering or a closely related discipline, and the interest to contribute as team member. The candidate must have outstanding work ethics and demonstrated dedication to scientific advances and research excellence.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
The preferred candidate would have demonstrated prior project leadership and excellent communication and verbal skills to lead and execute high-level research projects. Prior industry experience in the fields of biomedical engineering, product development, and translational research is preferred. Climate Vocabularies: New methodologies for music and science communication
, conducted by Dr Louise Devenish, Professor Christian Jakob, Professor Cat Hope and Dr Lucy Richardson. The project will undertake research investigating artistic methods and techniques for music-science collaboration, and artistic practices for communicating climate science through music. A focus is placed on how music can enhance environmental storytelling to create more compelling and emotionally resonant climate messaging, and how engagement with climate science researchers, processes and data can lead to innovations in music.
The successful applicant will join the
Climate Vocabularies
research team and contribute to the wider project within The Sound Collectors Lab, and will also undertake their own distinct PhD project. The specific topic of the PhD project is open to negotiation, but it may involve artistic research in music, sound art, performance, or related disciplines with reference to environmental and/or climate issues. This position is for an Indigenous applicant, and will be supervised by Dr Louise Devenish, Associate Professor Bhiamie Williamson, and Professor Cat Hope.
Undertaking this PhD as part of a larger project has several advantages. First, the successful candidate will be integrated into an already successful research agenda that has been funded by the Australian Research Council, and will have access to funding to support fieldwork, artistic research activity, travel, and conference attendance. Second, the candidate will develop skills in artistic research methodologies, interdisciplinary research processes, and qualitative analysis, benefiting from expert supervision from research leaders in music, creative collaboration, Indigenous knowledges, climate communication, and science. By entering a PhD with a pre-existing structure, they will be further supported by the wider project team and by Monash University's Indigenous Research Team. Finally, the candidate will benefit from being part of outcomes from the research, which may include creative works, co-authored publications (where the candidate's contributions will be recognised through co-authorship), funded symposia, school-engagement exercises, and future grant applications.
