    The post-doctoral fellow will be part of a landmark NIH-funded study focused on advancing understanding of brain and behavioral development from infancy through childhood. The team at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland Oregon is led by Drs. Elinor Sullivan, Alice Graham and Bonnie Nagel. OHSU is one of 25 institutions nationwide that will recruit families to participate in the HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) Study. The HBCD Study is the largest, long-term study of early brain and child development in the United States with the goal of understanding how multiple factors impact brain development to better support children and families. This ambitious project, funded through a partnership of a dozen Institutes, Centers, and Offices of the National Institutes of Health, will enroll approximately 7,500 participating families from across the United States and follow them from pregnancy through early childhood. This post-doctoral position will be focused on the MRI component of the project, which affords a unique opportunity to get cutting edge training in developmental neuroimaging and collaborate with leading experts from around the country who are working together on this effort. The post-doctoral researcher on this project would be expected to lead and organize MRI data collection efforts from infants and young children and engage with the HBCD consortium by representing the OHSU site, serving on workgroups, attending relevant trainings, and giving presentations. There will also be opportunities for the postdoctoral fellow to pursue research questions with exciting existing datasets from federally funded developmental studies made available by the PIs, Drs. Alice Graham and Elinor Sullivan Learning and training opportunities will be developed commensurate with the interests and skills of the candidate. The Postdoctoral Scholar appointment is a full-time, career-development position performing and assisting with research under the supervision of a faculty member. In particular, we are investigating the adverse health effects of short and disrupted sleeping patterns, food choice, shift work, and the mechanisms underlying the adverse health of performing activities during the night. These studies will lead to interventions designed to improve the health, safety and well-being of shift-workers and vulnerable populations. Primary duties will include data collection and management, developing scientific ideas, writing grant applications and manuscripts, and supervision of research staff. The successful candidate will be proficient in project management and independently monitoring study operations, budget management and managing human subjects IRB protocols and modifications. Shift work and weekend work (including night-time data collection) is expected. Additional duties can include overseeing and managing research equipment, materials, and logistics (with the assistance of research staff). Experience with making measurements in human physiology, data analysis, and overseeing research studies is required. They will specifically help oversee and manage study activities for projects that use technology to track multi-dimensional functioning in older cancer survivors undergoing treatment and a phase II exercise intervention in functionally-limited cancer survivors. They will help assist with and run a patient advisory group, under the direction of the Knight Community Outreach and Engagement program; will help oversee either a longitudinal observation study and/or a clinical exercise trial. The postdoctoral fellow can gain experience in using digital technology, using patient-reported and clinically measured outcomes, longitudinal methods, clinical trial design and execution, and intervention development. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and confident individual to join the CPU Platform Architecture team to help drive advanced exploration for next-generation iPhone, iPad, and Mac CPU designs.In this research-centric role, you will be responsible for exploring and defining next-generation CPU architectures that seek to maintain performance and efficiency leadership. This role will challenge you to: * Discover insight into CPU performance bottlenecks and drive improvements to performance through architectural and microarchitectural enhancements * Set direction for next-generation high performance CPU's in such areas as: branch prediction, instruction/data prefetching, memory subsystem, or other CPU areas * Build the right tools suited for performance analysis so that you can parse through the noise and focus on the real challenges * Apply AI/ML techniques as both a tool for exploration and for CPU algorithmic feature improvement * Conduct continuous research into one or more CPU areas, brainstorm ideas, and model ideas in a performance simulator to refine and prove their utility * Present analysis/findings to guide CPU architecture and design teams on features that should be implemented in future CPU's * Work cross-functionally with software and system partners * Provide recommendations and influence the roadmap for future Apple CPU's used in iPhone, iPad, and Mac systems Expertise in one or more disciplines within CPU architecture: branch prediction, instruction or data prefetching, value prediction, caching policies, etc. Ability to identify performance bottlenecks in workloads in effort to craft ideas to solve them and ability to implement those ideas in a performance simulator Experience applying traditional or state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to novel problems. Knowledge of model development and tuning a plus Knowledge and experience with common industry performance benchmarks and workloads 10+ years of relevant experience PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a focus in Computer ArchitectureArray
