Perform other functions in the various sections of the lab such as environmental, quantometer, transformer oil, metallographer, raw and process control material, as required to ensure the orderly completion of laboratory business. Perform preventive maintenance on various types of instrumentation in the lab involving x-ray systems and other laboratory equipment. Evaluate, advise, and recommend appropriate operational adjustments to ensure environmental systems are operated and maintained to conform to the intent and spirit of applicable EPA and OSHA legislation while maximizing production. All instruments are calibrated and checked prior to any analyses being performed. If an instrument does not meet standard measures then troubleshooting process will begin until the problem is corrected. A Quality Technician II is charged with overseeing the quality, safety, productivity, and training linked within their assigned team. The ability to effectively communicate to the team is crucial to the continued success and development of the personnel and equipment managed. Through resourcing of timely product inspections, and directing of plant quality technicians, the Quality Technician II position is tasked with the short- and long-term success of the Manufacturing Quality Team. Primary Functions and responsibilities: QUALITY INSPECTIONS: · Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams and engineering specification sheets to obtain product information such as specified materials, cosmetic requirements and dimensions. · Verifies conformity of finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Verifies conformity of first piece by conforming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Verifies products going to outside service by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Accurately perform and complete First Article inspection reports and Non-conformance reports · Inspects production components and subassemblies for conformance to predetermined standards, specifications, tolerance and quality procedures. · Verifies conformity in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervision. · Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database (log in in E2; KPIs logs etc.) · Will document results of all inspection findings and results including detailed descriptions/discrepancies and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings · Performs complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources. · Perform line, in-process, subassembly, shipping and receiving inspections as needed.
