TITLE: PLATING PROCESS TECHNICIAN FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPT A SHIFT: MONDAY THRU WEDNESDAY AND EVERY OTHER THURSDAY 6:00 AM TO 6:00 PM REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR, PLATING PROCESS ENGINEERING Under the direction of the Director of Plating Process Engineering, the Plating Process Technician provides support to the engineering teams in the plating area, including assisting with wet etch process, preparing and maintaining recipes, reviewing and documenting process or procedures, and expediting and dispositioning prototype wafers; maintains process controls using Statistical Process Control (SPC), collects and analyzes data, and recommends corrective action. This role will require you to accurately evaluate and document receiving, in-process and final inspection of highly intricate prototype, custom parts and assemblies for a variety of applications from Aerospace, military, Energy Production and R&D. You will need to have an extreme attention to detail, skill in basic shop mathematics, the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications and personal discipline to document and report nonconforming products in an objective manner. The Quality Technician I can perform quality assurance duties as assigned to assure all products meet or exceed customer requirements. The Quality Technician I is expected to demonstrate proficiency in at least one of the three discipline identified, 1) wax batch approvals, sample inspection, processing, packaging and distribution of samples to customers and or secondary test providers; the creation and distribution of required documentation to internal and external test groups, the entry and validation of data into specified databases maintenance of cataloging of wax inspection standards 2) the inspection of incoming components to approved standards; the creation and storage of inspection records and other documentation into specified system, the maintenance of incoming inspection standard 3) the sampling/inspection of in-process production materials, the sampling/inspection of finished goods at pack-out; and/or sampling/inspection of finished goods in inventory against standards. Role and Responsibilities Supports the supervisor with quality related items in a manufacturing process environment with respect to candles and home fragrance products. Monitors and helps verify corrective and preventive actions are effective and sustainable while maintaining product quality (wax, wick, fill weights, wick centering, labeling, cleanliness, etc.) against standard operating procedures). Evaluate efficiency standards and measure performance to targets. Tracks, reports, , and supports corrective actions as defined by the supervisor to maintain and improve efficiencies. Responsible for supporting the BME & EU testing process, logging samples into database, and printing testing forms and ID barcodes. (zero-cure burns, other burns & testing). Monitor and report on the quality of finished candles at pack-out against customer requirements. Prepares samples according to customer requirements, sets up distribution to various testing facilities (internal, customer, 3rd party), and communicates the sample distribution list with various customer reps daily. Ensures a safe work environment by communicating safety requirements, auditing, tracking, and providing feedback and corrective actions to employees and management. Primary Functions and responsibilities: QUALITY INSPECTIONS: · Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams and engineering specification sheets to obtain product information such as specified materials, cosmetic requirements and dimensions. · Verifies conformity of finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Verifies conformity of first piece by conforming specifications; conducting visual and measurement test; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Verifies products going to outside service by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work · Accurately perform and complete First Article inspection reports and Non-conformance reports · Inspects production components and subassemblies for conformance to predetermined standards, specifications, tolerance and quality procedures. · Verifies conformity in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervision. · Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database (log in in E2; KPIs logs etc.) · Will document results of all inspection findings and results including detailed descriptions/discrepancies and monitor corrective actions to inspection findings · Performs complex and critical inspection procedures requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources. · Perform line, in-process, subassembly, shipping and receiving inspections as needed. MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT: · Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; · Perform routine quality audits of controlled manufacturing area for material identification, traceability, equipment calibration, etc and prepare reports under the direction of Quality Manager and document results. · Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment.
