The Little Nell reservations agent job description

The Reservationist handles all incoming calls for the restaurants. The Reservationist helps with making, changing, and confirming reservations and handling special requests. The Reservationist is trained and adept at managing the dining reservation software (Resy). The Reservationist is competent, practical, and proficient in all F&B offerings, including small private events, wine cellar bookings, ticketed events, specialty dinners, and all events sold by the food and beverage department. The Reservationist is well trained to handle hostess functions in either restaurant (see hostess Job Description).
Essential Job Functions
• Answer all incoming calls for all restaurants according to Forbes 5 star standards
• Assist guest needs over the phone
• Handles reservation requests
• Makes, changes or cancels any reservations according to the particular reservation guidelines
• Complete reservations properly in Resy
• Actively guides the guest through the reservation process (including reservation times, table splits, special menus, dietary restrictions, and seating preferences)
• Marks all guest comments, dietary restrictions and seating preferences in resy
• Maximizes restaurant seating and adheres to space and capacity constraints
• Able to describe facilities and cuisine
• Well versed in menu offerings and ready to answer any questions related to menu items
• Competent, practical, and proficient in all F&B offerings, including small private events, wine cellar bookings, ticketed events, specialty dinners, and any events sold by the food and beverage department (this includes: dates, times, prices, event capacity, payment and confirmation methods)
• Proficient in the restaurant reservation software (resy)
• Proficient in the maintenance software (hot sauce)
• Proficient in the menu editing software (in design)
• Mark guest comments in resy

Additional Job Duties
• Complete maintenance requests in hot sauce
• Make cleanliness and maintenance inspections as directed
• Is familiar with hotel fire and safety regulations and procedures
• Adhere to hotel standards, policies, and procedures
• Make copies, files and completes paperwork as needed
• Maintains neat and orderly station
• Well versed in administrative duties, such as menu editing and printing
• Make sure that all restaurant-menus are current and up to date
• Ensure that all private dining menus are ready before the actual meal period
• Familiar with Colorado liquor laws never allow outside liquor (or wine) brought to the restaurant
• Hostess acts as a gatekeeper and does not allow outside food items (such as cakes) into the restaurant
• Complete tasks and projects delegated by the manager. Assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
• Will report to work in a neatly groomed and acceptable manner as outlined in the employee handbook
• Report work on time. If unable to report for work, notify the manager as described in the employee handbook

Bartell Hotels Reservation Central is currently seeking reservation agents for our call center. Bartell Hotels owns 8 Premier Properties in San Diego. Reservation agents make reservations for all eight hotels; knowledge of San Diego area tourist attractions is very helpful. Must be a team player, friendly and must be available nights and weekends. Applicants will be subject to a Pre-employment Physical and Background Check.

Job Skills:

  • Ability to use personal judgment and specialized knowledge to give information to guests
  • Ability to shift easily and frequently from one activity to another - such as from typing, to searching in a directory, to using a telephone

Responsibilities:

  • Provides courteous and efficient service to customers according to Bartell Hotels standards
  • Understands room types and rates
  • Understands the importance of group codes, guest types, and source codes
  • Proficient in manipulating the hotel room inventory to meet and exceed customer expectations without loss to hotel
