The Hospitality Aide is responsible for providing non-clinical support and assistance to residents in a healthcare or long-term care facility. This role involves helping residents with daily activities, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment, and ensuring that their needs are met in a compassionate and respectful manner. The Hospitality Aide supports the nursing and care teams by providing excellent customer service, engaging with residents, and enhancing their overall quality of life. Reports any changes to the patient's medical and living conditions to the supervisor or the primary nurse. Minimize Patient Risk: Meet safety needs of patient and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, Oxygen, etc.). Provide proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence. Policies: Adhere to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct. Operations: Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings. SKILLS: Compassionate communicator with a positive attitude. Understanding of the hospice philosophy, comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill and secure with the issues of death/dying. Patience is a virtue when working with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers. Attention to detail is critical, as is being observant and following directions. REQUIREMENTS: Meets the training requirements of the State and has successfully completed a state established or other training program that meets the State's requirements of a competency evaluation program, or state licensure program. One year of experience is preferred, preferably in Hospice care.
