What You'll Be Doing:
As a ResidentialAssistant also known as a Residential Mentor internally, you'll make a meaningful impact each day by helping ensure the smooth and supportive operation of our shelter. As a ResidentialAssistant, you'll be a vital part of a dedicated team working to create a safe, welcoming, and organized environment for all residents. This role focuses on facility operations and support rather than managing individual participant caseloads. Your contributions will help foster a community-centered atmosphere where residents can thrive.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Shelter Operations & Support: Maintain daily shelter functions including logging attendance, preparing rooms for residents, and supporting general facility procedures.
Facility Management: Assist with heating and setting out pre-prepared meals (no full cooking required), and help maintain a clean, hygienic, and comfortable living space.
Environmental Support: Help create a positive and functional shelter environment by responding to general resident needs and ensuring the smooth flow of daily activities.
Participant Engagement: Partner with Program Mentors to support participants with tasks such as completing housing applications and accessing resources.
Community Facilitation: Contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment by participating in community meetings and occasionally leading or assisting with mini-workshops for residents.

Summary:
To assist the Residential Manager (or Lead/AssistantResidential Manager) in the development and implementation of a comprehensive residential program for each of their assigned individuals
Primary Job Responsibilities:
* Work as a member of a team to maintain a clean, safe, positive living environment for each individual who lives at the residence including completing laundry and cleaning assignments
* Assist in the development and implementation of each individual's residential ISP/IEP and daily activity schedule.
* Attend and support individuals participating in all community experiences.
* Implement positive behavior supports and individual behavior support plans for individuals who live in the home.
* Provide supervision of all individuals while under his/her care.
* Administer and record individuals' medications, in compliance with MAP.
* Provide direct supervision and care to individuals, including 1:1 responsibilities at all times and locations.
* Participate in any meetings pertaining to assigned individuals or program planning, as directed.
* Engage in de-escalation of individuals.
Essential Job Functions
* Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather
* Demonstrated evidence of mature judgment, good interpersonal skills, a desire to enrich individuals' lives and a willingness to learn
* Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
* Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job
* Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportations of individuals
* Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI)
* The ability to assist individuals in evacuation from the residence
Qualifications:
* A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred; prior experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
* Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background requirements
* MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification or the ability to obtain MAP certification within the first 90 days of employment

The ResidentialAssistant for The Providence Center Men's Road to Recovery will perform, coordinate and monitor the daily non-clinical operations of the program.
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, first shift, 7:00am-3:30pm
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide orientation of clients into the community.
Conduct tour of the facility and make introductions.
Problem solve and provide other support to clients as needed.
Serve as a role model.
Assist in new client admissions.
Review rules and regulations, issue linens, assign bedrooms, sign appropriate releases, gather birth certificates and social security cards, etc.
Perform a variety of services.
Check daily client details and follow through on any unsatisfactory performance.
Assign daily client housekeeping assignments and assist clients in performing necessary housekeeping tasks.
Coordinate client appointments with appropriate social service agencies; i.e. doctors, dentists, GPA, etc.
Conduct toxicology testing for all clients as instructed by Program Manager.
Administer breathalyzer test and collect urine for drug screens.
Ensure a safe, clean and healthy living environment.
Monitor client whereabouts during fire drills or emergencies.
Maintain order.
Ensure the facility is safe from intruders.
Report any deficiencies to Manager.
Ensure medication procedures are followed.
Transport clients in the agency vehicle when necessary.
Perform record keeping in accordance with Health Information Services and other Center requirements.
Follow required office procedures in a cooperative manner.
Initiate and process incident reports as per Center guidelines.
Adhere to Infection Control protocols.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Advanced education preferred.
Experience working with a substance abuse population is strongly preferred.
A candidate must have at least 4 years in recovery, if applicable.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Must have valid driver's license, registration, current inspection and insured automobile.
