Job Description
Job Summary
The Student Program Assistants (SPAs) are responsible for performing and implementing administrative and programmatic duties, including answering and returning calls, replying to emails, making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports and financial data, training and supervising other student staff, and customer relations for Campus Life. This position serves as a welcoming presence for students, staff, and visitors, provides administrative support for events and initiatives, and helps foster an inclusive and vibrant campus community.
SPAs are also responsible for coordinating and administering orientation programming, including the, Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR) Training, SOAR I-IV, Transfer SOAR, Spring SOAR, Auggie Days Training, and Auggie Days. SPAs will also supervise Orientation Leaders with support of the Director of Campus Life.
Each SPAs will be assigned one of the following roles based on experiences and interests:
Social Media and Outreach Lead
Develop, schedule, and publish engaging content across official campus life social media channels. (i.e. TV Presentations & Bulletin Boards)
Capture and create photo/video content that highlights student events, programs, and campus culture.
Monitor social media channels daily and respond to messages, comments, and tagged content in a timely, professional manner.
Collaborate with student organizations and campus departments to promote events and initiatives.
Track social media analytics and provide regular reports to identify trends and improve engagement.
Ensure all posts align with university branding, accessibility standards, and communication guidelines.
Brainstorm creative campaigns to increase visibility of campus resources and student involvement opportunities.
Assist with live coverage of major campus events via stories, livestreams, and real-time updates.
Maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and strategic posting.
Develop and disseminate monthly commuters' newsletter with important information, resources, events and services.
Student Orgs. and Departmental Lead
Serve as the primary student staff contact between student organizations and departments.
Provide guidance and support to student organization leaders on policies, event planning, and campus procedures.
Facilitate communication of important updates, resources, and opportunities to student groups.
Maintain accurate records of active student organizations and their leadership.
Collaborate with campus partners to enhance student organization programming and engagement.
Manage the inventory, operation and organizations of Rental Items/Equipment's from Campus Life.
Support the management of Auggie Life.
Maintain supplies, equipment, and inventory; coordinate repairs or replacements when needed in the Auggie's Nest (Auggie's Lounge and Campus Life 1st Floor Storage)
Support budget-related tasks such as processing purchases, reimbursements, and vendor invoices.

Qualifications
Must have been previously held a Student Leader position for minimum 1 consecutive academic school year.
Have a 2.0 cumulative and previous semester grade point average.
Able to commit to a minimum 10 hours a week in office.
Available to work some after-hours and weekends.
Adhere to University policies, as well as local, state, and federal laws.

Training and Development
Attend Fall RA Training in August 2026 in person and hold all dates in their entirety.
Attend Spring RA Training in January 2027 in person: you must be available to come back to campus up to four days prior to class starting and hold all training dates in their entirety.
Arrive to campus before students come and stay on campus until after they have all left for both fall and spring semesters.
Assist with Move-In, Orientation Weekend, and Admitted Student Day activities
Attend RA hall meetings, monthly departmental in-service meetings, and 1:1 meetings with supervisors.
Be present at and participate in fall and spring end of semester check outs.

Serve as a liaison between Residence Life and other departments. Actively refer students based on their needs.

Submit administrative paperwork, including weekly reports and duty logs.
Document situations of crisis, complications, and facilities issues using warning logs, work orders, and incident reports.
Communicate actively with your supervisor and Residence Life.
Complete all conditions reports from residents when moving in or out of a room (checking room, documenting concerns, getting signatures).
Guide your residents in completing their Roommate Agreements when moving into or changing their room.
Document the planning process and the evaluation of your community development areas.
Conduct semesterly Fire, Health & Safety checks as mandated by the Department of Residence Life
Position Requirements:
RAs must commit to a full academic year in the position.
RAs must be able to commit to varying time commitments throughout the academic year including but not limited to staff meetings, training and development sessions, duty and on-call, team meetings, and additional commitments as outlined by the Residence Life Hall Coordinator and or the Director(s) of Residence Life.
RAs are allowed to work an additional on or off campus job totaling no more than 20 hours a week. Consult the supervisor before agreeing to more hours.
RAs must maintain a 2.75 GPA

Position Compensation
RAs are not charged for room/housing. RAs do not receive hourly or work study payments for basic compensation. Meal plan charges are the responsibility of the RA. RAs may receive additional hourly compensation for approved hours for Holiday duty commitments (applicable during University recognized holidays/ closures), Residence Life sponsored events (outside the scope of programming/ curriculum requirements), collateral assignments and special projects. These opportunities will be communicated through Residence Life.

II. Job Summary:
Clare Housing is seeking a candidates for ResidentAssistant in an innovative, no-barrier supportive housing model is funded through the HINT (Housing Innovations for Needs-based Tenancy) award and is designed for single adults living with HIV who are also navigating active substance use, mental health challenges, and chronic homelessness.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for harm reduction, a deep commitment to equitable healthcare access, and the compassion and open-mindedness needed to engage with people in complex situations-exactly where they are.
This position will provide operational support at the facility, providing onsite coverage and assisting with coordinating services for residents. This position requires physical activity, as one person provides direct care/supervision to individuals in a home setting. This is a pilot project through HINT and applicants must be flexible and willing to work within a team environment.
The hourly range based on skills, qualifications, and experience: $18-$20/hour
This is a part time position and will require non-standard hours due to the 24/7 housing program. Benefits include Dental, Vision, 4% match of 403(b) retirement fund, sick time, free virtual medical and counseling services. The position is based on-site in South Minneapolis.
III. Core Job Functions - Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide person-centered care and services to residents.
Respond to medical and/or mental health emergencies, including Narcan administration.
Assistresidents with laundry, cooking and other physical tasks according to their individual goals and needs.
Maintain a clean, safe, home-like environment by completing household cleaning and organizational tasks.
Use Harm Reduction strategies to provide support for individuals who may be actively using drugs
Provide emotional support to residents and their families with respect and compassion, using Positive Support Strategies as needed.
Coordinate resident care with other agencies, including clinics, pharmacies, social workers, the HINT onsite team, etc.
Communicate professionally and in a timely manner all pertinent information regarding resident's physical and emotional condition both externally and internally while maintaining the HIPAA privacy rule.
Document appropriately in organization's electronic record.
Keep up-to-date on medical and psycho-social information of HIV/AIDS disease, harm reduction and positive supports - including knowledge of ever-changing populations and rapidly evolving treatment options.
Attend regular staff meetings and annual trainings.
Practice appropriate infection control and universal precaution techniques.
Understand and practice procedures to ensure client confidentiality.
Understand and uphold the Vulnerable Adults Act and HIPPA regulations.
Make telephone calls to clinics, social workers or emergency personnel if necessary.
Ability to be part of the on-call rotation when requested.

Experience working with people who use drugs, individuals experiencing homelessness, or those living with HIV.
Individuals with lived experience or a passion for working with our target populations (Gay/Bi/MSM/Queer, Transgender, Native American, African American, multi-racial communities, HIV positive people) are encouraged to apply.
Knowledge of harm reduction principles, trauma-informed care, and healthcare access barriers faced by marginalized populations.
Interest in public health, nursing, addiction counseling, community health work, or a related field.

V. Working Conditions and Environment:
This position will work at one Clare Housing supportive housing building for adults living with HIV and other disabilities. All of the residents are formerly homeless individuals; this is a harm reduction environment and active use may occur in private places. The buildings are not accessible, there are stairs leading into the house and multiple floors and smoke free. This position will potentially have variable hours which may include evening and weekend hours.
