Arlington of Arlington Assisted Living has been serving Upper Arlington and Columbus since July 1998. This lovely, single-story retirement home community consists of 44 residential units. There's plenty of common area, a beautiful interior courtyard, and walking paths.
Abbington of Arlington Assisted Living is located on Old Henderson Road in Northwest Columbus, just west of Kenny Road. The neighborhood primarily consists of single family homes with dining, shopping and recreation nearby. A great location!
We are seeking a second shift fulltime RA. Our community is a friendly, well trained and homelike assisted living environment. We strive to create a nurturing home for our residents. Experience working with Geriatrics and Senior populations is preferred.
RA's provide care for all Activities of Daily Living. Assist in showering, dressing, grooming, the dining room meal service, complete resident laundry and do general housekeeping. We ask that all team members provide services with dignity and respect. Abbington of Arlington is looking for a hardworking, kind, professional individual to join our team as a 3rd shift Resident Assistant, RA shift nightly from 11PM-7AM.
Open positions are for Third shift 11PM-7AM, 8 hours with paid lunch and breaks. Salary Range from $16-19 per hour based on experience. We pay biweekly with merit based annual pay increases. Merit Based and referral bonuses are offered.
Job duties include, direct care for residents under the guidance of our Service Coordinator and Executive Director in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines that govern the Assisted Living Facility. These responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with activities of daily living.
Assist in daily tasks such as dressing, grooming, showering, dining, laundry and general house keeping.
Communicate with residents, families, staff and visitors with professionalism and respect.
Responsibility to our residents includes communicating with respect and empathy to preserve their dignity.
Responsibility to fellow employees to collaborate and foster team work in our community.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ensuring timely implementation of resident care plans.
Participate in shift change meetings with incoming staff on next shift.
Uphold resident confidentiality and communicate health-related information within established guidelines.
Participate in resident care assessments, document observations, and report changes in condition to nursing staff, Service Coordinator or Executive Director promptly.
Report all falls, injuries, changes in resident health promptly following state and company requirements.

Must be willing to work 32 hours or more a week including weekends to be considered full time.
Must be willing to submit to a background check.

Responsibility to follow Abbington company rules and organizational policies.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 35 pounds regularly and push individuals who weigh up to 200 pounds in wheelchairs.

Responsibilities
Provide encouragement and high-quality care in a cheerful, timely manner
Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including oral care, toileting, bathing, incontinence and dressing in a caring and supportive manner as needed per resident
Provide supervision, cueing or other non-weight-bearing assistance related to transfer ambulation as needed per resident
Roll carts, laundry hampers and other equipment safely through work and resident areas
Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with resident needs and team structure
Work as a team under the supervision and direction of the nurse in charge
Quickly respond to emergency calls from Independent Living residents as directed by the nurse in charge
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma/GED preferred
Certification: First Aid Course

* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position

Qualifications:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
* 1 year relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

* Basic computer operation skills.

Provide hands-on involvement in programs during the residents' scheduled times
Coordinates efforts of Ambassadors Club (for welcoming new residents), resident council meetings, and resident food council meetings
Assists the Life Enrichment Director with the preparation and distribution of monthly activities calendar

Invites residents to activities; assures they are reminded of and escorted to activities as necessary

Facilitates Community volunteerism among residents (e.g., Community service projects)
Coordinate transportation of residents to and from events outside of the community, which may include driving a community motor vehicle

What you'll do at DBH:
This limited-term program aims to grow Ohio's psychologist workforce to meet the needs of our patients within our regional psychiatric hospitals. Participants gain advanced skills while helping to improve hospital capacity and patient outcomes.
Our regional hospitals have a high percentage of justice-involved patients. Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants will gain experience in the specialized area of forensic psychology during their term. In this program, Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants may have the opportunity to conduct psychological evaluations, including cognitive, personality, and risk assessments, may assist in diagnosing mental health conditions and in the development and implementation of treatment plans and provide clinical interventions such as individual and group therapy. Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants may also be involved in court ordered forensic assessments, observing testimony, consultation and may provide umbrella training supervision.
This program provides Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants invaluable experience in working with complex mental health cases while preparing Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants for licensure and long-term careers as psychologists.
Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistants will also contribute to hospital initiatives aimed at improving patient care and treatment outcomes, as well as working closely with psychiatrists, social workers, nurses, and other team members to coordinate patient care within our regional psychiatric hospitals.
This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union). The job classification title for a Post-Doctoral Psychology Assistant is Project Employee Psychology Assistant with a pay range of 13. Please see Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule.
This position is limited-term (temporary), and will only last up to two years for post-doctoral employees who are working towards licensure in psychology from an accredited university.
