Duration: 6-month Contract to Hire
Broad job duties include making and receiving phone calls, recruiting and retaining study participants, completing home visits, traveling to community sites, performing IRB regulatory tasks, data collection and entry, working with
clinic and community sites, developing reports, filing, logging, performing basic statistical analyses under guidance, working with trainees, problem-solving, and brainstorming.
Primary Functions
Serve as program assistant for Center projects. Aid on multiple active grants at CAPS as needed. Perform data collection during patient initial visit and on-site follow-up visits. In collaboration with the PI, lead recruitment efforts. Act as primary liaison between off site primary clinics and to recruit patients and as primary liaison between study subjects and the PI regarding consent forms. Conduct eligibility screening.
Compile and maintain research files, grant files and related records related to program assistant role.
Coordinate proper data management per protocol requirements and compliance, i.e. collect and record all data pertaining to study patients. Create, maintain, and update a secure, confidential computer database on all patients under research investigation. Obtain, copy, mail, maintain files of films, charts, and information on protocol patients. Ensure compliance/adherence to the Sponsor and MCW's policies, requirements, legal contracts, and HIPAA regulations.
Provide administrative and clerical support within CAPS. Assist the PIs in writing and presenting research reports, grant protocols, conducting literature searches and pulling articles from the library, drafting manuscripts and facilitating submission of manuscripts to scientific journals. Coordinate/perform/assist with the reporting and communications with the IRB, government agencies, and study sponsor regarding adverse effects, study implementation, study renewal, study termination, and other activities necessary for exceptional performance from inception to close.
Facilitate communications between funding agencies, institution administrators, and researchers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the status of current studies. Review, evaluate, and report to PI on a regular basis. Discuss with PI and report any Adverse Event per study protocol. Prepare abstracts, posters and presentations for scientific meetings.
Work with community partners of the Center, assisting health educators in providing health education to community sites, establishing community partnerships, and working with designated community sites to advance the research, education and training mission of the Center. Assist summer student trainees at the Center. Work with trainees year-round and summer students (including, high school, college and medical students) during their summer experience. Assist students with data collection, data entry, and provide guidance on research related issues.
Making phone calls, receiving phone calls, sending and receiving mailings.
Vehicle is required as you will be traveling throughout the community.
There may be a requirement to work on Saturday, pending community engagement activities.

Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Health Science, etc.
Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management. Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Resident Advisor (RA) position is an important student leadership position directly supporting the academic and developmental mission of the University. Resident Advisors facilitate a cooperative group's living environment and promote co-curricular learning in the community. Resident Advisors promote and enforce standards for appropriate behavior. Resident Advisors develop and implement social and educational activities and programs. Resident Advisors receive a single bedroom in the assigned community and the Green/Black meal plan, approximately valued at $10,327.56. RAs also receive a stipend of $250 per semester paid in biweekly installments during class periods. Returning RAs receive an additional $50 per semester for each full returning year.
Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled full-time at UW-Parkside taking no less than 12 credit hours as an undergraduate or 9 credits hours as a graduate student.
Resident Advisors must be in good academic standing.
During the semester of application, they must receive a 2.5 semester grade point average. In addition, their GPA from the previous semester as well as the cumulative grade point average must be at least a 2.5. No probationary period is permitted for new RAs.
RAs must maintain a 2.5 grade point average each semester while employed as a Resident Advisor.
A continuing RA will be permitted one employment probationary semester during their employment. If an RA's GPA falls below 2.5, the RA will be placed on probation. Once on probation, the RA must receive a 2.5 or higher GPA the next semester or employment will be terminated.
A cumulative GPA of below 2.5 will result in release from the RA position at the end of the academic year barring any approvals from departmental appeals processes.
Resident Advisors must be in good conduct standing and not on Housing & Residence Life or University Probation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Should possess initiative, responsibility, and good judgment as well as the ability to act independently.
A genuine interest in working with both students and administration.
Previous community living experience and experience in leadership positions preferred.
Willingness to accept responsibility, complete all training requirements, and learn on the job.

Position Description:
Role Model and Student Leader
* RAs will serve as positive role models for all students. This includes but is not limited to modeling appropriate and mature behavior both on and off campus, as well as via digital and social media.
* RAs are expected to support the vision, mission, values, philosophies, and goals of the Department of Residence Life.
* RAs are responsible for abiding by, upholding and enforcing the Dominican Student Handbook and Code of Conduct including role modeling Caritas et Veritas, compassion and truth, as outlined in the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct Standards of Behavior: Integrity, Community, Social Justice, Respect and Responsibility.
Community Development
* RAs should be visible, approachable and regularly available to their residents and floor community.
* In the spirit of Caritas Veritas, the RA is responsible for supporting the unique needs of the individuals in their communities. In partnership with our residents, RAs will build communities focused on mutual respect and support that stimulate academic and personal growth for the community.
* RAs serve as a resource for residents and should be familiar with the services and opportunities provided by Residence Life, the Division of Student Success and Engagement, and other university departments and offices.
* The RA will follow all programmatic and resident connection requirements as outlined in the Residence Life Programming Model. RAs will receive this curriculum, including the corresponding expectations, during fall training.
* RAs will mediate roommate agreements as needed and will facilitate conversations when roommate conflicts arise. RAs will keep supervisors informed of situations with roommates in their community.
Collaboration and Team Member
* RAs are expected to maintain good communication with their fellow RAs and other residence life student leaders regarding community issues, activities and development.
* RAs should initiate and maintain awareness of and collaboration with campus partners, such as the Office of Student Involvement, University Ministry, Wellness Center, Center for Cultural Liberation, Campus Safety, faculty and administrative partners associated with the Learning Communities.
* RAs will honor the individual identities of their team by engaging in development opportunities to understand their own personal development.
* RAs will assume responsibility for other duties as communicated by the Department of Residence Life.
Administrative Responsibilities
* RAs will participate in bi-annual training (2-3 weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester, and one (1) week prior to the beginning of the spring semester - exact dates pending publication of academic calendar) and ongoing training throughout the year.
* The RA agrees to assist with annual departmental processes including but not limited to RA selection, health and safety inspections, fire drills, room selection, opening and closing of the halls. Which includes completing all necessary paperwork and follow-up in a timely manner.
* The RA must complete all necessary written reports properly and on time including but not limited to incident reports, program proposals/summaries, residential connections, duty logs, and all other forms assigned by hall leadership. All written reports must be submitted based on Departmental and University expectations and be free from personal bias.
* RAs will complete performance evaluations each semester.
Duty and Crisis Response
* RAs will serve on a rotating duty (on-call) schedule.
* RAs will respond to emergency and non-emergency situations, following appropriate protocol.
* RAs will assist in providing duty coverage during academic breaks and holidays when the University is closed.
* RAs are expected to adhere to duty protocols as described and provided during training and through supervision.
* RAs will enforce policies consistently and identify ways to remove bias from the response to student concerns and crises.
Time Commitment
* The RA role is a one academic year commitment from August through May, (dates pending publication of 2026-2027 academic calendar). Must be able to work the full term of the position.
* The RA role requires an average of 20 hours of time per week including
* Residence Hall Office/Community Hours
* Weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with their supervisor.
* One (1) on-call weekday duty night per week.
* One (1) weekend duty weekend every 4-6 weeks.
* Availability on Thursdays from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm for bi-weekly Residence Life meetings.
* One academic break coverage period (Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break I, Winter Break II, Winter Break III, Winter IV, Spring Break, Easter Vacation (final coverage dates to be determined when academic calendar is published).
* At the conclusion of each semester, the RA will remain in the residence hall to support Hall Staff for official closing of the building/area as determined by the Department of Residence Life.
* All RAs are required to be on campus and in their designated communities during blackout periods - August Training through the first weekend of September and January Training.
* Excluding official University break periods, a supervisor must approve and be informed of extended/significant time away from campus.
* In accepting the RA role, the RA agrees that the RA role assumes priority over other extra-curricular and co-curricular activities except for academics. The RA may be asked to limit activities should the activities impede upon or negatively affect the RA's performance. Since activities and commitments may create time or priority conflicts, the RA will limit involvement in other leadership positions, employment, or outside activities to a maximum of twelve (12) hours per week. Any additional time commitments will need to be approved by their supervisor.
* RAs may be selected to return to the position pending successful rehire application and process.

* Must be a student in good standing and not on Academic Notice or Disciplinary Probation
