    Job Description THE STUDENT AFFAIRS AREA ANNOUNCES A PART-TIME OPENING IN RESIDENCE LIFE RESIDENCE LIFE COMMUNITY ASSISTANT Perform a variety of housing assignment, customer service and student activity functions in support of the Director and Coordinator and Residence Life. Assist with resident check - in and check - out. Assist with "on-the-spot" corrections of imminent or in-progress student violations of housing policies (i.e., quiet hours, pet policy, littering, etc.) Assist with other disciplinary corrections and follow up actions as directed. Rotate "on-call" duties for all of housing. Development of residential programming. Recruitment of future students, including Housing tours. Evening and weekend educational or community building programming to support the goals of Residence Life. Intramural Sports Programming. Represent the Office of Residence Life at recruitment and large admissions functions. Attend and participate in staff training sessions and meetings. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma. One (1) year of office management, customer service management, facilities management or community services. Ability to multi-task and organize numerous projects. Proficiency with computers and MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook). Proper telephone etiquette. Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to maintain the highest degree of professionalism at all times. RAs will receive CSA training as directed by Residence Life and the Division of Student Affairs in Staff Training prior to every fall and spring semester.RAs must complete all required online training modules from the OnPoint system and provide a certificate of completion to their Residence Life Coordinator.Additional Information:RAs are provided with meal plans as part of their compensation package. The meal plan is to be used by the RA. It is not meant to feed friends, family, or significant others.RAs will be furnished with a private room, a meal plan, and paid $126.93 bi-weekly.RAs are required to sign an employee housing contract for their room.RAs are under an August 2026 - May 2027 (academic year) contract; ending on May 18, 2027 tentatively, which will include working breaks and holidays throughout the year. Supervision: Resident Advisors are staff members of the University of Oklahoma Housing and Residence Life Department within Student Affairs and/or Athletics Residence Life. Resident Advisors (RAs) work under the supervision of a Graduate Residence Coordinator who in turn works under the supervision of the Residence Life Coordinator.
