Uniform and Appearance Requirements:

Community Development
* RAs should be visible, approachable and regularly available to their residents and floor community.
* In the spirit of Caritas Veritas, the RA is responsible for supporting the unique needs of the individuals in their communities. In partnership with our residents, RAs will build communities focused on mutual respect and support that stimulate academic and personal growth for the community.
* RAs serve as a resource for residents and should be familiar with the services and opportunities provided by Residence Life, the Division of Student Success and Engagement, and other university departments and offices.

* The RA agrees to assist with annual departmental processes including but not limited to RA selection, health and safety inspections, fire drills, room selection, opening and closing of the halls. Which includes completing all necessary paperwork and follow-up in a timely manner.
* The RA must complete all necessary written reports properly and on time including but not limited to incident reports, program proposals/summaries, residential connections, duty logs, and all other forms assigned by hall leadership. All written reports must be submitted based on Departmental and University expectations and be free from personal bias.
* RAs will complete performance evaluations each semester.
Duty and Crisis Response
* RAs will serve on a rotating duty (on-call) schedule.
* RAs will respond to emergency and non-emergency situations, following appropriate protocol.
* RAs will assist in providing duty coverage during academic breaks and holidays when the University is closed.
* RAs are expected to adhere to duty protocols as described and provided during training and through supervision.
* RAs will enforce policies consistently and identify ways to remove bias from the response to student concerns and crises.
Time Commitment
* The RA role is a one academic year commitment from August through May, (dates pending publication of 2026-2027 academic calendar). Must be able to work the full term of the position.
* The RA role requires an average of 20 hours of time per week including
* Residence Hall Office/Community Hours
* Weekly or bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with their supervisor.
* One (1) on-call weekday duty night per week.

* Availability on Thursdays from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm for bi-weekly Residence Life meetings.
* One academic break coverage period (Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break I, Winter Break II, Winter Break III, Winter IV, Spring Break, Easter Vacation (final coverage dates to be determined when academic calendar is published).
* At the conclusion of each semester, the RA will remain in the residence hall to support Hall Staff for official closing of the building/area as determined by the Department of Residence Life.
* All RAs are required to be on campus and in their designated communities during blackout periods - August Training through the first weekend of September and January Training.
* Excluding official University break periods, a supervisor must approve and be informed of extended/significant time away from campus.
* In accepting the RA role, the RA agrees that the RA role assumes priority over other extra-curricular and co-curricular activities except for academics. The RA may be asked to limit activities should the activities impede upon or negatively affect the RA's performance. Since activities and commitments may create time or priority conflicts, the RA will limit involvement in other leadership positions, employment, or outside activities to a maximum of twelve (12) hours per week. Any additional time commitments will need to be approved by their supervisor.
* RAs may be selected to return to the position pending successful rehire application and process.

* Must be a student in good standing and not on Academic Notice or Disciplinary Probation
* Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 to apply and must maintain a cumulative and term GPA of

Resident Assistant. We are seeking a Resident Assistant. The Resident Assistant provides personal care and related services to residents according to individualized service and care plans. Works under the direction of the Healthcare Coordinator. Certification as a Nurse's Aide is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Obtain and record vital signs; report deviations to supervising nurse per Individual Service Plan (ISP).
* Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, nutrition, ambulation, transfers, positioning, and medication reminders.
* Follow ISPs and daily task sheets; communicate resident status changes to supervisors.
* Utilize standard precautions and infection control procedures.
* Maintain safe and clean resident environments; document resident progress in a timely manner.
* Encourage resident engagement in activities.
* Uphold HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to all community policies.
* Attend biweekly in-service meetings and mandatory trainings.
* Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
* Minimum six months caregiving experience, preferably with elderly residents.
* Completion of required medication management course.
* CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
* Professionalism and ability to handle emotionally charged situations.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:
Providing residents with assistance in the activities of daily living such as grooming, bathing and maintaining their personal environment.
Transporting residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
Responding to emergency calls, resident and/or visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
Reviewing and adhering to resident care plans as well as obtaining vital signs.
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences and skills.
High School diploma or equivalent is required
All state educational requirements for the position must be met.
CPR certification preferred.
Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
