POSITION SUMMARY
Our Resident Lifestyle Assistant (Activity Assistant) supports the Resident Lifestyle Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and coordinating various daily life enrichment activities for our active residents, aimed to promote their physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being.

RCC, or the Regional Crisis Center, is a subacute residential facility where youth are placed directly from the Department of Human Services. RCC provides residential living facilities, mental health treatment, family counseling, substance use disorders treatment, and academic instruction to clients. RCC clients are often combative and have multiple mental or behavioral challenges. RCC uses verbal de-escalation tactics as well as treatments such as seclusion rooms and full-body restraints when necessary to ensure the safety of our clients.
Eligibility for a QMHA certification is preferred. You must have prior experience working with combative at-risk youth, preferably in a residential setting OR experience working in a challenging, high-paced environment that can be applicable to this line of work. The ability to maintain strong professional boundaries and confidentiality is a must. You must also be able to pass crisis intervention training within your first month of employment. The Regional Crisis Center uses specific manual restraints as specified by the state, and the ability to perform these restraints is essential to the position.

Refers residents to needed services such as Dental, Optometry, Audiology, Podiatry, Psychology, and Psychiatry and other community health resources
The Social Services Coordinator will compile records and prepare reports such as theft and loss
Coordinates with nursing department to meet the residents' optical, dental, and audiological needs and arranges transportation
Prepares timely documentation of social service interventions and assessments in resident's chart
Attends resident care meetings, rehabilitation and utilization review, quality assurance, and department head meetings
Complete appropriate sections of MDS timely
Other Duties as Assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or similar field
Skilled Nursing experience preferred

Position Overview:
Residential Assistants (RA's) are responsible for attending to all youth-related needs during their scheduled work shift. This includes monitoring youth during their daily living activities and completing all relevant documentation, using trauma informed care to provide a safe environment for healing and recovery.
What you will do:
* Provide support and intervention to youth as needed using trauma informed approaches.
* Provide academic support to youth during their daily educational routine and assist with tutoring and homework.
* Complete all required documentation, including daily communication log and incident reports.
* Facilitate medication administration to youth as indicated; maintain medication administration records (MAR) and properly document distribution of all prescribed, over the counter, and as needed medications.
* Complete regular safety checks for youth
* Maintain facility in a clean, orderly fashion while on duty. Report any safety or maintenance needs immediately.
* Work to maintain open communication with youth and coworkers to maintain a positive environment.
