Job Summary/Basic Function
The ResidentAssistant (RA) is responsible for a floor or wing. They are there to assist with the personal and academic concerns of the students and to help work out any group conflicts that may arise. The RA also serves as a facilitator to encourage a cooperative and considerate group living environment. The RA is expected to help build a feeling of togetherness and community by initiating and organizing floor/wing or hall activities and programs. They serve as an informational resource about the campus and the residence hall. Most of all, the RA is expected to be a person who cares about people and attempts to make the residence hall a worthwhile place to live. The RA serves in an on-call rotation and will be responsible for handling situations that happen within a residence hall including guest sign-in, lockouts, health and safety checks, distribution of packages, room changes, updating administrative paperwork, policy enforcement, and more.
Required Qualifications
* Must be a full-time student
* Must reside in an on-campus hall as assigned by the UHCS staff
* Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75
* Must have a flexible schedule that allows them to work weeknights, and weekends
* May not participate in time-intensive academic coursework while a staff member where you would be in session all weekdays and weekends. This includes student teaching or some internships

You would actively incorporate the CARF/CCAC standards into the daily rhythm of life of the residents.
You would develop an awareness of residents' interests and needs and assistresidents in maximizing their independence and participation.
You will work on a one-on-one basis with residents providing direct resident care and assisting in residents' activities of daily living and scheduled program activities.

PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Resident Advisor guides, assists and instructs residents in activities for independent functioning. Responsibilities will be performed in accordance with Interact's CHS policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma and 1 year of experience preferred; no experience required..
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate with and relate to individuals with Intellectual disabilities.

Ability to work in an unstructured environment and display individual initiative, creativity, good judgment and effec tive operational skills.

Possession of a valid driver's license from state of residence, a minimum of one (1) year driving experience.
Certified in Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, Fire Safety Training within the first six months of employment.
